If Evander ever has a career ending injury, he will be bankrupt within a few years.
Looks like oilers are opening up trade options for Eberle, Nuge and Hall.
I wish we could offer a trade with Ebs.
Ebs at $6M? No thanks.Originally posted by DENZILDON

Andrew Ladd for Nugent-Hopkins
Hall is the only stud in that group. They would be foolish to give him up.
Eberle has some real skill, but like many Oilers his defensive game is the shits. No thanks indeed at 6m.
Can the Nugget even be traded? Isn't he injured?
I believe Yak is also on that trade bait list. He's in the same boat as Eberle... lots of talent, but a horrible defensive game, plus a very questionable work ethic. On the other hand, he's only being paid 2.5m or something like that...
Feel almost bad for the Oiler fans. All these top end picks which should have turned the team into a no-brainer for the cup, but somehow they still manage to be the very worst in the league.
At this point i think anyone not named McDavid should be on the trade block if its a fair return coming back. At the end of the day we need to give up something to get something. And all our 'talent' just isn't meshing well together. At one point we need to change up our forward core because rotating in 3rd and 4th liners isn't doing shit.Originally posted by Kloubek

I'm not saying have a fire sale, but if any of our top line forwards can fetch a fair return to re-balance our team I'm for it. It's been too many years of being 'one piece' away from being a competitive team.
I watched a lot of oilers games this season (for the lolz), and I think Hall is the only one out of that group to be worth his $6m contract if he wasn't so fucking lazy on plays at times. Honestly, I think it's an Oilers mentality or something, everyone that's been traded away seems to be playing better on other teams. $6m for his production and a little more effort would be a fair contract. Would be a great replacement for Hudler, albeit a little more expensive and a little risky.
Question is, will Edmonton make such a trade with a divisional rival, and what's our costs?

Oilers can always retain salary and/or include conditional picks based on performance for these guys who aren't quite worth what they're making right now. They have options to make those guy more desirable if they need to.
Whether they need to, and whether they will... Well that's just speculation.
I'd trade a first round pick for Hall and his 6mill contract.
Oilers retaining salary or cap on these guys would cripple them when it's time to re-sign Draisaitl and McDavid. At this point of the season, teams are looking for depth defensemen and depth forwards (without term) for their playoff run. Unless the Oilers are willing to take lowball offers just for the sake of trading, then they should unload them.
Crazy. Send Yak to the Capitals. Send Nuge/Eberle to the other Canadian teams and watch them light it up.
Edmonton is a shit hole and no one wants to play there.

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
That's what I think is happening too, there something going on with that team internally and no one wants to play there. These guys can play but just choose not to.Originally posted by max_boost

I would be happy if he Jets landed Eberle or Hall, RNH not so much. Interested to see where Ladd goes and what we get for him. I wouldn't be shocked if Trouba gets traded also, and maybe one of our goalies.
update: Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Ladd traded to Chicago. Details to follow.
update 2: Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Ladd for Dano and first, plus a conditional pick

GO FLAMES GO!
Marko Dano is a nice add-on to a first round pick. Just adding more young guys to the prospect pool.
I wonder if the Jets have any more trades planned and possibly upgrade their pick from Chicago
Not a big surprise that Ladd goes to Chicago. Hard to say if the Jets have something else in the works. I think they do, I think they trade a goalie and a D-man away.Originally posted by sputnik

I was really excited for the Stars this year.
Now I'm really excited for the Stars to maybe take the Hawks to 5. Maybe just an OT loss in the sweep? I'll take success wherever I can find it at this point, because the Hawks winning the West just gets more and more likely every day.
I keep forgetting you're the other Stars fan...Originally posted by Mibz

I hope we have a much better showing in the playoffs. We had a good outing against the Hawks the last game.
Think positive man!
