Get rid of the salary floor and watch teams totally tank haha

i remember mid 90's baseball where Albert Belle made more than the entire Pirates team hahaha

I think those kids will do fine in other markets, Edmonton just sucks.

Are teams able to negotiate performance-based salary retention?

"If Hall scores 30 goals for his new team, no salary retained, otherwise 25% retained" kinda stuff? It would drop the risk for teams looking at Edmonton's players with the potential for some win/win situations.

I didn't realize that RNH was already at 6mm AAV, fuck, does he even play anymore? If so, he's invisible on the ice.

No way McDavid ever leaves Edmonton, but it would be funny under the strange circumstances it would happen.

I forgot that no one would ever be interested in players from Edmonton because this is a Calgary forum.

Hall on the open market gets 7+ million.

    Eberle probably gets 6.5+ million.

RNH probably gets less, but also probably plays a lot better in the east.

But hey, they are all over paid and will need salary retention

Not to mention that the Flames are about to pay a winger 1.5 million+ more than Hall that really isn't any better.

    Go away.

Oiler fans are delusional.... I'm not even sure why I defended the Oilers players in my last post. I feel gross about it.

Also Hall is the biggest, overrated pile of garbage winger in the entire NHL. And what players would fetch on the open market is not a determining factor for their level of skill.

AND Johnny Hockey is better then Hall.

    LOL at Oilers.
You don't think Chia is actively shopping these guys for some defensive help? 29 other GMs don't think they're worth a top 4 dman.

I watch a lot of Oilers games. Hall is by far the best of the 1st rounders on the team, and is probably worth closest to his contract if whatever team he gets traded to can beat the defensive liability/laziness out of him. He's a great offensive player, just terrible defensively.

With that being said, I'm pretty sure the Oilers will NOT move Hall.

I WISH the Oilers would move Hall to the Jets. I would take Hall over anyone else on that team (that is available).

Nobody said no one would ever be interested in these players. We're saying no one would be interested in these players for what they're being paid right now.

I'd gladly take Hall even if he's a dumb, lazy fuck. I'd want Yak and Draisaitl on my team too. I actually feel Yak has a lot of upside as a reclamation project if he can get moved to a different team for a fresh start and he's will to take a step back and forget anything he learned from Eakins. He's got a really good attitude so I think he'd buy into whatever a decent and willing coach is selling.

You're nuts if you really believe this. If these guys were worth this much, your team wouldn't be so shitty. They'd be finishing 25th instead of 28-30th year after year

Wow you have 0 hockey knowledge hey. Typical oilers fan...E=NG. You do realize johny, in his sophomore season, basically matched hall's peak production while scoring more goals?

Hall would arguably be worth 6-7 on another team if he can kick his laziness and become productive again. Eberle....you are out to lunch if you think a team will pay him that. Edmonton fans literally do not understand hockey.....it is amazing.
