I'm gonna see if I can find second-hand boots before I go out and buy new ones. Looking for boots in reasonabily good condition, no brand preference.

i have a pair of size 12 alpinestars for sale if you are interested...
I have always found good deals on bike gear every year at the bike show. Lotsa sales on at the shows.
I also picked up some gloves that were regularily $120 in November for $45. I am not particularily enamoured with the gaudy pattern, but they are good, well constructed and comfortable waterproof gloves.
Off season is a good time to buy.
If a new rider wants to source cheap gear, all he has to do is find a seasoned rider - as they (we) always have tons of previous years' boots and gloves and back protectors and kidney belts, and fringed & conchoed crap from their Harley days, and stuff, and will practically give the skanky stuff away.

Still looking...
Make sure you try the boots on before you buy them(online or whatever.) Go to Blackfoot or Walt or whoever has the size and boot of the same type in stock.
You've really got to try it on. I usually wear a size 11.5 shoe but my riding boots are a 9.5. They are cut very different from anything else.
Got a pic? How much?Originally posted by bigboom

Ya I noticed that riding boots fit big. I tried on my friends 10.5 Alpinestars and they were fairly loose on me and I normaly wear a size 11. Thanks for the heads up though...Originally posted by bol
