Yeah, but I didn't see the bell or cell phone pouch! Fuck! I just got a drawstring bag, a granola bar, trail mix, and an orange!
The bell was from the B&P Riverwalk station, I needed a new bell so this was perfect. the pouch was from the city of Calgary beside the Stantec booth, maybe if you went early they weren't there yet.

I was there too! Around 730ish, enjoyed a couple Stampede-style pancakes, entered a raffle and then took off. Nice to see so many people there, the community is really growing.

Tall guy bikes are so funny looking. The proportion of the rear triangle is so goofy haha.

Just cross posting this because it was in the purchase thread but if anyones looking for an upright rack or any rack in general you should consider the the Mammoth rack. A couple reputable beyonders have one love it and i just got mine and its a nice unit for sure. Made right here in Calgary too. Heres the link to the chat on the rack, starts at post#19394 https://forums.beyond.ca/threads/503...78#post5125078

That would be my ideal bike rack with three kids. The only thing stopping me for ordering one is our van's OEM hitch, despite having a 2" receiver, apparently is only a Class 2 hitch. Wonder if it is classified as class 2 because of the low tow capacity of van (3500lb) or if in fact the hitch is also "built" less sturdy.

Haha that made me laugh as well, as I was writing it, I was thinking "man this feels familiar".

    At least I'm consistent.

According to good ol google you should be ok unless you're carrying 5 ebikes. The rack itself is 80lbs and you should be good for 350lb hitch weight so that still leaves you with 250ish lbs before you max it.

Ah, good point. 5 bikes for sure, but probably not close to 250lbs total yet.

If mtb ebikes were more affordable, everyone would ride one. You want to get more laps in faster? The perfect thing for it. It's only cheating if its in a race.. I wish i had 10k of free cash to drop on one

Also negates the beating on your vehicle if you are shuttling and everyone can ride!

My average speed to work is 30+ km/hr on pretty much any terrain. It's faster for me to bike to work than it is to drive downtown; plus not paying for parking.

Stronger frame, fat tires, motors, batteries, etc. Plus a lot better creature comforts than my road bike has. I still enjoy riding both but the ebike is way more fun.

Yeah, not gonna lie… I’m very jealous when they pass by on the dog shit shuttle roads of swansea and steamboat… but also husky road is not fun and I rather do twice the laps than grind up that thing… would be major at moose these year too with ing’s lot being closed

All depends on the rider but for me I cant climb worth shit so i skipped a lot of rides. I finally caved last year and it was life changing for me. With out the E bike i can honestly say i would've never got to experience the fun stuff at west bragg, now I would go out about an hour before them and get in a lap first and then ride whatever together. Im also not exhausted so i can give it on the way down, we finished last year with a pretty hard trail in WB and the strongest guy in our group was spent so he wasn't having fun coming down. The funny thing is the guy that busted my balls the worst was the first to cave this year and when he got one the rest did so yeah thats why i had to get a new beefier rack lol
The only time i regretted the ebike was at fernie last year, i caught covid the day before the trip but wasnt missing it so i still went(had to drive up myself and get my own room lol). When we got to the lift i knew i was in shit, you have to lift the bike right off the ground and chase the chairlift in front of you to get the back wheel on the hook. I wasnt too sick but on codeine for the cough so i wasnt all there, my ebikes about 53lbs so until you lift one you dont realize how fucking heavy these are. I still dont know how i did it every time tbh. I went and got a non E for lift days because of that time lol I got into MTB and dirtbiking during covid and if i had to choose one, it would be the ebike all day.
