Winter Bike Day is next Saturday, if anyone is interested. Hopefully it'll be nice out.

If it’s a nice day out, it’s not winter bike day. It’s just bike day.

Looking for a 24" bike for our 10 year old daughter. She liked the Trek Precaliber 20 she had. Are there similar bikes that we should look into? Norco Storm? Specialize Riprock? These have disc brakes but are without suspension. The Trek is the other way around.

We got my daughter a 24" Trek Roscoe. Rather have discs over a fork that doesn't really work.

Some of the kids bikes are on sale now, and you don't have to deal with the crowds this weekend...any thoughts on this bike: https://www.bowcycle.com/product/nor...s-414016-1.htm

We have a norco samurai 16 which has similar setup as what you've shown, front and rear hand operated rim brakes. Survived all three of my boys, the youngest one (6 year old now) was still riding that last season. Relatively light and they all learned cycling with two wheels on it.

We bought a 24” Norco Storm used for our 9 year old. As someone mentioned, suspension not yet necessary unless they are off-road a lot. Specialized also had a really nice 24” for $739. I just forget the name.

Edit: the Storm has front suspension. It’s entirely useless

Forth looks good, both our kids rode spawn 16”, very solid bikes too.

They have 24 inch models, and 26 also.

I haven't bought a non-BMX bike for 20 years but it's time to get back into trails/jumps/downhill style, pulled the trigger in a Ibis Ripmo AF after looking around at a few options. Can't wait to pick it up, getting excited already!

If one of you has a Kuat NV 2.0 you don't like/use sell it to me, I don't want to pay retail for a rack haha

Just grab a tailgate pad… fox (racing or the suspension one) or race face usually have sales. Super cheap. Just get a “shuttle pad” from either ride wrap or forbidden for the down tube and you’re good.

For a pickup with an empty bed (no canopy, etc) I actually prefer them for ease of use, compact truck length, and less bouncing. Racks are a PITA for anti-rattle if you’re hitting real dog shit access roads.

Tell me more. Colour? Damage? Do you hate it or just not utilize it? I like the ability to add the 2 bike extension which is my main reason to focus on the NV.

Won't be able to, working evenings that week. Last year was great, beautiful morning and good food. 2022 was very cold, but I got a free t-shirt!
