Anyone lose a bike? So far only seven bikes have been returned to their owners.

Keep an eye on the police auction sites too....

I've decided I need to learn to trackstand. Was stopped at the light on Home Road and watched the guy in front of me trackstand for over 2 minutes. I have watched all the YouTube tutorials but I've never been able to master it.

Yea good skill to have for sure. I ride flats so it drives me absolutely batty getting stuck behind guys trying to clip in off lights especially those that budge the line at the lights.

lol, so I didn’t see snow in the forecast but I guess someone else did. Guy wearing team velocity (or something to that effect) full spandex reppin 100 ish cadence doing about 15kph at best down the river pathway.

My question is at over $150 per tire what the hell is a guy doing prematurely wearing his tires out in hot weather on pavement???

Most new studded tires need a run in period. Which is 40 km on my ice spiker pros. This is supposed to be done on cement before the snow hits, so maybe that's what it was.

Can confirm they definitely weren’t studded, they actually looked pretty worn. Maybe he’s got money and DGAF

What tires was he on that are over $150 each? Not sure what you mean he was prematurely wearing them out, unless there were studs.

Yea googling a bit more looks like you can get cheap ones. Was just guessing going by MEC and the cheapest ones they seem to have are $170 dollars.

Pavement especially in warm weather adds a lot of wear to knobby tires.

Was just comical to see, full “team” spandex, clipless, firing those pistons like mad but doing only like 15kph on a river pathway during the peak of commuting time haha. Not a trail or a flake of snow for miles

... and summer riding is done for me. Got a broken clavicle on the ride to work this morning when the oncoming car decided he wanted to run the turn.

I was riding westbound on Kensington Road and the driver was heading eastbound. He made a left turn northbound into an intersection and gave me no stopping distance so I smoked the rear passenger side of his car before eating pavement. He drove off but came back afterwards while I was in the ambulance. He claims he didn't see me and didn't feel anything more than a bump when I hit him. He came back when he saw someone was down at the intersection he just went through.

I'm just glad he came back. I was fucking furious when he drove off.

Bike is a write off too. I don't know what can be salvaged just yet, but I know the front wheel and frame are done.

Damn that sucks man. Glad no head injuries or something that can’t heal over time.
I try and avoid street riding whenever possible. I’ll go the long way even if it’s a lot longer ride.

    ouch dude, that sucks.

You just became the statistic to support the 30km/h campaign although it has more to do with an inattentive driver.

Damn man sorry to hear that. Is that your normal route? Or did you get forced through there due to the pathway construction?

No, it's not. I was forced to take it cause of the pathway construction. Funny thing is I was just thinking this morning how I couldn't wait until construction was done so I wouldn't have to take that route anymore cause drivers can be so clueless.

So brutal - sorry that happened, heal up quick! I've been avoiding the detour and taking the south side of the pathway for the same reasons. Too many intersections.
