All 3 look damn nice and would do the job.
Man this weather sucks. Anybody else slapping their studs on yet? These wet mornings below 0 have me worried on my downhill descent into the core. Next week not looking so great either

Should convince them that the major jake is the equivalent and get that sexy blue 2018.
I have a steel 2013 Rove CX (Sram Rival/Apex 2X) as a commuter and a 2017 JTS for more spirited riding. Both are great bikes but the Rove is a far more relaxed geometry and is quite a heavy bike. The Rove is amazing for general commuting and exploring because it is super comfortable and it can fit MASSIVE tires with fenders. Right now I have 42C studded tires and fenders and there is still some clearance for snow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks for the input, sneek. That confirms what I thought. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The 2 pedestrian bridges on my way in were pretty dicey this morning and the forecast isn't getting better. I'll be throwing the studs on the winter beater tonight and riding it tomorrow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Think I’m gonna follow suit. Hoping to ride tmw as the commute will be horrible being the first fall of th year
Just seems so early to be going to studs
Fresh snow + no studs is usually fine if you have decent tires. I'm going to try today withoutThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ya, if there's not any ice underneath, and there is a lot of ice underneath. I would have biked today, but glad i didnt when i saw the gongshow of 11st. Bike lane, what bike lane? If i could be on a pathway the whole way i'd be all over it, but sharing a lane with traffic in these conditions.. i'll stick with zwiftThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I think I was the only one enjoying the fresh snow on my studded e-Fatty.
I am not that tall and I ride a 53 Rove and a 49.5 JTS (sizing is weird). You're more than welcome to test ride either if you wish/are close in size. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Studded tires were really nice today. There is a decent bit of ice on the overpasses this AM. I knew I was a bit crazy when I saw I was the only set of tracks.
Rode on hard packed/rutted slush 80% of my ride this morning, studs were definitely the right choice.

I put studs on last night drove. Didn’t think I could make it with amt of snow that fell. But i saw your post strider about tire pressure. Will try that as I pumped my studs up to 75psi.
By chance anybody ride from edworthy To the core. Couple of questions if you know any info
1. How rideable was the south side of river without a fat bike
2. Anybody know eta on north side river pathway being reopened
Last year this area turned into a 1 foot wide path, with a few stretches of pure ice where the run offs are. Studs got me over the iceThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My boss sent everyone to work from home in the afternoon, so I rode back around 11:30. It is quite a lot worse than this morning. A lot of that slush has frozen to the ground making footprint ruts everywhere. I almost bailed 5 or 6 times...it sucked! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Close calls and bailed once. Ankle hurts and a paint chipped frame but I survived!
Man, I wish I didn't have a broken chicken wing right now. I'd love to go beating around on my fat bike on a day like today!
I rode it this morning - 700x35 studded front and 700x37 non-studded rear winter. It was awful, all over the place pretty much the whole way. If I could find little patches that weren't packed out it was fine but those were rare. It's going to be a crazy ride home. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
North side to completely reopen is slated for November sometime. I think a portion will be open sooner than that where you can go over the pedestrian bridge to the new detour, then onto the north side after crowchild. It's a bad detour but I'll probably start taking that after riding the slush soup that was the south side this morning.
Several studies have investigated the relationship between intelligence and the degree of religious belief (excluding humanism), with most showing an inverse correlation between intelligence averages and the "importance of religion" to the testee.
rode this morning from Telus Spark to downtown, I was the 2nd bike that went through the trail until Bridgeland, had to go slow but do-able.
TBH I found the roads around to be Eau Claire sketchier.
Hope it all melts later today.
...you say that until you have to bike through those lakes of slurpees. I used to live next to the Bridgeland train station and there is always a massive puddle that develops about 100M from the corkscrew everytime we would get a melt. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I know exactly which massive puddle. Already starting today. On the ride home I got a constant spray off my front tire into my face. Fun times. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
