^ ya I bought the Wolvhammer BOA from Bow last night. Neither bow or Calgary cycle had the wolfgar in stock. Double socked it this morning and was fine.
Also read that review abou the bread bag. Will definitely try it.

Wondering if any of u guys use tire liners for your studded tires? Both my schalbe $69 marathons are giving me flats with the studs punching through the inside. I only bought them at the start of last winter too.
I replaced my rear with the continental winter contact so non studded. But now I woke today with a flat front and upon inspection same thing. Studs pushing thru the inside so I’ll have to go to mec or bow today.
I've never had that issue, and have a few seasons on my marathons. Gorilla tape time? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Man seems like I get the weirdest stuff happen to me.
Went on some forums and others have had it too.
Forecasted to be -35 with WC tmw at 7am. The bread bag layer will be on my feet for sure!
when do you guys usually take off your studded tires?
should i keep them on for the morning ice?
It was 90% dry but the 10% Ice patches can get nasty. Shocked I didn’t bail this morning.
On a side Note I joined the bow cycle cycling club. Anybody else here a member? Looking fwd to a few group rides.

Keeping mine on for a bit. There are some huge icy sections on the pathways still, and a lot more melt to go. Wait til we've had a solid week of warmish weather....
Not until April or May when there's no more snow along areas I ride. Right now, the melting during the day and freezing over night leaves enough ice on the paths that you still need studded tires. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
makes sense, yeah every morning when I'm going through 5-10 meter of ice my heart stops beating. I just pick the cleanest path and try to keep my direction as straight as possible.
will take off the studded tires mid-April to put the CX tires, then hopefully 700x28 by June.
Or wait til the first good rain. That tends to clean things up a lot on the pathways. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Not a commute but got my first roadie ride in after work and first around airdrie. Man the shoulders up here are small.. Come on 1 m bylaw!
Or just buy another bike so you don't have to worry about changing tires all the time! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
haha, yeah I could use my wifes jake but it doesn't have fenders and I still need to put the 2x10 tiagra parts in it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I was using it in January so it the roads dries up more I might start using it again.
first flat for me this year. started riding the CX bike yesterday and 1km this morning the rear tire went flat.
forgot to load the pump in my bag so I turned around and drove in to work.
since I have to work on the tire, I might as well finally upgrade it to 2x10 from 3x9. will be also changing the brakes from mini-V and try cantilever out.
Are you looking to sell your mini-vs?
Did the trial ride to my office from the 96 ave parking spot yesterday. Think this will work well.. hoping my truck doesn't get broken into.
Any of you guys ride 12/11 st south of the zoo? Google is telling me to take side streets to the roundabout at dartmouth, but 12/11 is a straight shot...

didnt see this til now, I was going to put canti on the jake but couldn't find the extra cantis so I re-used the mini-vs for now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
this happened yesterday, had to loosen the derailleur and cable so that I could remove the chain. (chain broke from the link that I used)
time to convert it into 1x10

Honestly you're best off sticking with mini-vs anyway. So much more stopping power. I ended up picking up a set for the single speed cyclocross bike.
heavy bike traffic being part of the brewery loop, there is a bike lane for all of one block between 8th and 9th ave. depending on where you're heading i'd probably do the elbow pathway. its way more entertaining with the tight turns and dips around the underpasses. but if you are sticking to the road, 12th st is fine... just dunno about trusting cars in the traffic circle itself. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Kinda gotta deal with the traffic circle as I need to up Highfield... other options put me way out and around
