Take is as muscle gainz. I carry an OBUS and a Kryptonite u-lock. That equates to about 33lbs of bike weight. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ya I'm hoping other bikers don't care and leave behind their locks. Its eighth ave place .. gotta pay $52.5 to use it till eoy then $105 for 2018. My initial contract is only till mid Feb too...haha
so $157.5 to use for possibly 4 months if I don't get an extension
Funny story. This should be in the Kijiji thread but this one's bike related.
Selling some brand new lightly used Schwalbe Marathons for $110. Guy offered $75 and made a deal. Met up and offered $50. Mind you this retails locally for $80 each.
Rants about how he can get the same pair for $50 at Chain Reaction Cycles. Left then realized this was the same guy trying to buy it for $80 months ago and pulled the same CRC plead.
He said it's Kijiji we're dealing with so it's normal to lowball and compare.
I was going to tell him to take his $50 and get your gf a nice dinner instead (the tires are for his gf he said).
If you're here on beyond, $36.99 + tax + duty from CRC does not equate to $50.

there are dedicated racks on the walls where tenants can leave their locks at the end of the day.
im done riding for the year, left my lock in there and will start re-using it next spring
man what a beauty ride today was...there was a crazy wall of hot air that i hit. Felt like it went from 4 degrees to 16 in like 30 m. I was dying from overheating
this tailwind is gonna be smokin if it keeps up.. sorry to those headed north
ehhhh.....
Worse headwind I’ve ridden against in a long time.....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Wish I had put my headband back on for the ride home. Ears hurt so bad from the wind haha
It was pouring pretty heavily towards the end of my day, but in the 10 minutes between the time I left my office to the time I changed and went outside, it completely stopped so my ride home wasn't as bad as it was gonna seem. I even got some tailwind for about half of it.
This morning was really awesome for a ride. Might be the last really good day before the snow hits this week.
I’m in eighth ave place also. Yes, they have dedicated bars on the wall to leave your locks....but I wouldn’t leave it there all winter. They do periodic bike cage cleanups and remove all locks on the bars. They usually post notices and send you an email, but if you miss the notice, your lock is gone....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
thinkin im putting the studs on tonight...goal is to ride every day this week...
If you're in Eighth Ave Place, you can also get secured bike parking at Centennial Parkade. It's just on the main level, SW corner of the building. $10/month. The outside parking is also covered. Never had a problem leaving a lock there https://www.calgaryparking.com/findparking/bicycle
heloc that shit
I'm putting mine on tomorrow evening. I don't think tomorrow will be too bad to need them even if it snows tonight. Plus there's some things I want to do with the bike and I just wouldn't have time tonight. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There’s enough standing water around there may be some ice. I put mine on (after getting a ride home with the wife... wuss). Here comes slow clicking rides for 6 months!
thanks for the heads up, will be grabbing my lock sometime this week and keep it on my desk for now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
i wussed out after only having 4 hours of sleep last night (thanks soccer) so hope to ride tomorrow. Do you guys have fenders on your winter commuters?
Definitely. Once that snow gets slushy, you'll be glad you have them. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I run one of these for shittier conditions: https://ass-savers.com/
That said, I rarely ride in the rain. If I'm riding snowy trails I've got shoe covers and different pants to keep me dry.
