Ive been looking at the grizl in a big way... stock is the problem. How much did they charge for shipping? Their website:
"Complete bicycles are delivered exclusively in our special Bike Guard box, which carries an additional charge. "

What was your cost to your door?
I have not ordered from Canyon Canada before, but from their website, the bike listed price + shipping + GST + duty.

    https://www.canyon.com/en-ca/custome...-import-duties

The duty is 13% on the bike. The GST and duty part is not charged at Canyon but by UPS.
Shipping is 99 CAD, and the bike guard is 29 CAD. Optional 130 CAD for delivery and assembly by Velofix.

Basically $3,500 to my door. Packaging was immaculate and I usually prefer assembling my own bikes anyway (ie. correct torque specs/carbon compound/grease).

I ordered on the morning of the release day without reading any reviews. They had 1 bike in every size, so I got pretty lucky in that respect.

UPS didnt rape you with custom fees?… edit: how long it take to receive too?

Looks like i'd be pretty much the same as the cannondale at MEC.. but questionable when it would show... hrmmmmmm

No, the shipping was "all-in" $100. Out the door, the topstone is $650 more, it has a slightly better mix of drivetrain components, but the wheels/hubs are much worse. You can also walk into MEC and get faster service/warranty, if that matters to you.

The biggest factor for me is tire clearance. Having now run the 45c tires tubeless, I don't see myself running a smaller tire. I also got a set of 42c slicks for when I'm doing more road riding.

Hrmm. Website specifically says "Not included:Customs clearance fee"

I'd be looking at a Grail instead of a Grizl tbh. (damnit, Grail was available this morning on their site in a medium, now gone).. might have had decision made for me

To be honest there might have been a brokerage fee but it was definitely minimal enough not to notice.

If you're looking at the carbon grail, then get the topstone. The hunchback top tube and double decker integrated handlebars are a no-go. Bow/Bike Shop also had a bunch of Diverges and Asperos ordered which were supposed to come in July, they might have some of those leftover as well.

I too got 2 Canyon bikes. Delivered end of June.
Pretty nice and love them so far.
The first bike was a small duty of $175.
Second I got dinged $725. Did some calcs and I got lucky with no duty and just GST on first bike and second was charged the 13% duty and GST.

FYI, I've been seeing more and more notices of bike path closures over the last week.

No, but I'm seeing it all over the city wherever I'm riding.

Almost run down by a onewheel sidewalk loser this morning in his suit and tie.
Not awake and definitely not looking for a guy ripping the sidewalk at 25km/h.

There's always fixes somewhere. Usually not too bad since most of them are like 10 feet long, but the Bowness Park ones are really, really annoying.

The one that's been really pissing me off lately is the path that comes out of the west side of Fish Creek and into Woodbine. Each of the last three or four times I've ridden there, it keeps changing.

Well at least your route is still there. The Bowness Park one forces you to take a super narrow pathway instead.

I guess I shouldn't complain as I can just go through Baker Park but I miss going through Bowness Park

Wife’s looking for a gravel around 2-3k… any general thoughts on the Kona Rove DL? Any other suggestions?

Holy shit, my 2018 DL only cost me ~$900 The current one has a much nicer groupset though. The steel frame and 650b wheels should make it a very comfortable ride. My Rove DL is more closer spec'ed to the current Rove.

I love my Rove DL. It's the perfect do-all, year 'round bike and has almost twice as much mileage as my road bike.

I finally found a bike for a decent deal, got this thing for $1100 https://www.opusbike.com/en/product/...?CouleurId=224

Great for riding into work, wish i had a few more gears but oh well.

Good god though did it hurt my taint. Sore for like 3 days after. Should I get a completely new seat or a seat cover?
