might be bringing out the hybrid bike starting this Friday as I will not be buying a bus pass in December
will try ride 1-2x a week as long as there's no snow
(I miss riding, trainer is not as fun even when watching a good show)

That's awesome man, and tracking it pre-smart phone tracking!
I tried smart phone tracking for recreational rides, and hated it. Thus the only tracking I do is "calendar based" It started with marking the days I did ride to work, and has evolved to the point that it's easier to track the days that I don't ride to work. Not changing jobs or moving house make the route consistent and so totals are simple math.
I started tracking to justify a new bike purchase in 1996. Needless to say n+1 is working very well.

Been riding daily, I feel kinda bad for my ice spiker pros, but the carbide tips seem to be holding up? I have been doing tons of bare pathway, but also lots of icy trail sections, like fish creek, nose hill, bowmont. Seems worth it to keep the studs on, as I would have crashed tons without.

Yeah been thinking about riding the Jake this week but there's still gravel on the roads so I'll stick with the beater. I've been debating about swapping out the studded tires cause there's no ice on my ride.

I swapped to my cx wheels last week and just walk the sections that have ice on my route.

I'm curious to see how long the studs last in these conditions, plus I'm not walking

went along the edworthy park ice path yesterday. buddy had to walk the whole thing and almost fell multiple times. Theres 3 large sections of pure ice there.

I rode the Ghost in today.. there are 2 patches of ice on the entire route, none more then a couple m long. Just hit them straight and unclipped and i was fine.
Hope i get some of this headwind back on the ride home..

Might’ve have been the warmest ride in this year. Or maybe I was just overdressed.

Still riding my studded marathons. Should’ve swapped back to other tires if I knew this weather would last this long. Forecast calling for snow this Friday so will just keep riding with studdeds.
Only dicey part of my ride is road to edworth parking lot. That 2nd turn there is ice from the run off

Broke 7500km the other day with 80,000m of climbing. Might have to celebrate by commuting into work by bike tomorrow!

Installed my all season tires back vs having the winter marathons full-time.

Yeah the roads were sketchy but once I hit the paths, it was pretty easy to ride through even though it was really powdery. I'll be taking the fat bike to work tomorrow.

Holy fuck, there's so much snow out there. I couldn't even make it to the pathways because it was just too high and ended up going back home to park my bike and taking the train to work.
