Our kids' psych assessments cost $1800 each. About half was covered by insurance. Each assessment took two days, 4 hours each day.

The gifted programs have had to raise the bar on acceptable tests as some of them have been deemed obsolete and/or the entire test has been leaked and can be studied.

It's baffling how parents will game the system to get kids into a program that might not even suit thier kids. Madness.

Get an IQ test and submit an application for kindergarten starting September 2021.

Update - we continued to sit on the fence for a while after my last post before finally deciding to have a psychoeducational assessment done. Daughter tested with an FSIQ of 134 and GAI of 139. The psychologist shared this link with us https://education.alberta.ca/media/4...rents-2004.pdf, and much of it describes her to a 'T'.

We applied to Westmount and she's been accepted for Kindergarten in Sept.
