Grant is a regular sort of a dude, compact and wiry and filled with boundless energy. Visit his house in a suburb of Calgary and you’d notice a particular orderliness to its architecture, but nothing out of the ordinary. It’s a pretty small garage - and it is jam-packed with tiny little Italian hellions. Michelotti, Abarth, Siata: if you like small displacement engines tuned within an inch of their scrappy little lives, you’d like it here. As an added bonus, even a simple two-car garage can fit an entire squadron of these little bastards because they’re so small.

    ...

It took him five years to build this car, and I do mean “build.” After several decades of neglect, this Ghia-bodied one-off was a pile of rusty detritus, missing everything from glass to the interior. It was a shell of a thing, the type of restoration that’d require a huge investment of time and energy to be brought back from the dead.

Not my cup of tea but WOW, props for a world class build! Maybe a Beyond feature?

Exactly what I was thinking. I had to share it when I read it on Jalopnik.

Petrolicious had a bunch of pictures of the cars at the show and this one was my favourite. I had no clue what it was but it was absolutely gorgeous. Really cool that it's from Calgary.

I just did a bit of googling and saw pictures of the other cars in Grant's garage.

Is the Fred Phillips Collection still open for tours? Looks to be a major collector in Calgary as well.

Yes. Fred still does tours. I was there last Saturday. For anyone that hasn't experienced Freds diverse collection is definitely worth checking out.

just incase anyone was curious, Fred is still doing tours. I was there on saturday for the first one this year.

This is a 2015 thread? Not sure how many hangars you guys saw but I was told by a few people very close to him that his collection has expanded in size significantly in the past couple years.

We were taken through four hangars, I can only guess what his collection is worth but considering he has a 1930 **** ***** ** id say we saw well over 100 million in vehicles. He is very private and I was asked not to share what I saw with the internets but in short - he has everything. And when I say everything I mean every thing.

I think we went through 4 hangars when I was there 3 or 4 years ago.
