Lol I called it performance to avoid angering people who drive pure M division cars by calling it an m car.

    Can't win lol

Anyhow I don't care about vehicle depreciation that much, cars are a sunk cost in my books. That doesn't mean I can't be considerate of the future lol.

    Oh yea. Layoffs. Lol

True story - I think the best deal in DT parking right now is Calgary park place. On 6th ave and 8th. Underground, 6'4" for .... $150/mth!

I know it's true because I just signed up for it.

These downtown parking places frown upon vehicle storage. It's annoying as fuck.

Because it makes it easy to have 2 (or more) cars parked in the lot for the price of one.

Store one car and use your card for your daily driver.

Some large companies still keep up with their coop program - especially if they have long term view. Sometimes I wonder if companies get special tax credits from hiring interns/co-op.

I wonder how the food courts downtown are doing, if they're noticing a decline. Less people willing to pay for lunch and rather bring their own.

AB as a whole relies an enormous amount on the success of the O&G sector. It would be ignornant and just plain wrong to think it's the guys on a rig or in their cubicles downtown.

Although I am surprised to hear students getting internships (Nexen) and summer hires (Husky and Chevron). I guess in some ways they're the cheapest labour one can get in an office role

I think NDP is throwing in 10% of up to $50k/yr. So that's intern salary range.

If the 20% of directors being cut means a proportional number of rank and file, that would seem accurate. I thought this would have been more of a top heavy and middle management layoff though.

1,200 feels pretty heavy given there were already 180 cut from projects, plus all of the silent layoffs throughout the year.

    Isn't TCPL's workforce around 6-6.5k?
