I think it is a good deal. These cars really don't depreciate much from this point on (996 probably depreciated more than they had to due to aesthetics)

996TTs have held their value incredibly well (even appreciated) in recent years, I'm guessing mostly due to our crappy dollar and limited supply of clean, low-km examples left in Canada.

For 997s (not turbo specific) I've found that 997.2s command a premium thanks to dfi, pdk, leds, other enhancements, and smaller supply (lower original sales numbers during the recession), which leaves 997.1s in kind of a weird in-between spot with higher depreciation.

Was beaten to the punch on a low-km '08 c4s for $50k in the spring. Can't even find an '09 c2 for anywhere close to that.

Ya but for $6700? He's out of his mind that price is beyond ridiculous...it may be bullet proof but it's still a German suv from 2001, they're hard enough to sell when they're past 200,000km...that'd what I meant when I say it's basically worthless. ..good luck to him though. I'm guessing Flipsta was being sarcastic now I feel dumb.

Depends on what people look for. The manual transmission on an SUV is a unicorn that some people want.

It's a recession deal if you can get the price down (post says OBO).

You sound so worked up haha, I didn't say that it was a good deal. Like I said, I'd never touch it (and DEFINITELY don't think it's worth 7k).

Like Flipstah said though, if he finds the right buyer (someone looking for a manual SUV that's not a Honda), I think he could get a decent price for it probably.

We got a 06 911 C2 with 29k KM for $38k even. Seemed like an okish deal but not amazing.

What deals are you looking for? Sports cars are going south so they've never been worth more than they are now. New car sales are down so tons of rebates and finance options on new cars.

The cars that could be fire saled are being repossessed instead and sold to dealers at auction.

I literally took something similar to this in on trade, paid $500 for it. Gave it away in exchange for some work around the dealership.

Old X5s are a scary story.
