They just dropped it $12k, $43k is actually pretty good - just have to get rid of those awful wheels and hood. If this was a Beyonder's former car and the history is known, might be worth the risk buying from IMC.

Would a 2009 G37x sedan with 174,000km, brand new all seasons and separate brand new Hakkapelitta Rs and Stillen exhaust for $10,000 also be a recession deal? Only 2 minor accidents on Car proof Calgary car..seller got laid off..I had a hard time valuing this car but I love it and plan to keep it for years so it really doesn't matter that much. But I feel I paid a pretty good price for it. The 09s I been seeing on kijiji with 130-150km are asking 16-19...vmr pegs it at $11,500 wholesale which I think is a pretty good starting point in this economy depending on how desperate the seller is.

It sounds enticing as long as those accidents were indeed minor.

Ya, it was hit both times in the left front corner with a couple thousand dollar claim each time...I don't imagine it would take much to rack up that bill, just the headlights are probably quite a bit. Ya I love the car so far and don't imagine is Id selling it any time soon. Felt sorry for the young guy I bought it from but at least he had it all paid off. ..Thanks for the input.

Agreed, that's a good deal. I paid around the same for an 07 with lower k's about two years ago, when others were listed for ~$16k. No accidents, but seller had already put a deposit on a new car he was slated to pick up a couple days later, and dealer was going to bend him on the trade in price. All about having good timing.

Yup this was on kijiji about 2-3 weeks ago. The guy had his car on there for maybe 2-3 weeks beforehand, starting at 13,500, then 12, then $11,000 when I decided to go see it. His ad was poorly written I think, that's why he wasn't getting any interest. The car had tinted windows all around and had custom air intakes and exhausts plus it was debadged. Basically it just looked ghetto and I figured it'd be in rough shape. Because of that I didn't even bother looking at it as I just assumed it was bagged and modified with cheap parts, I had actually emailed him when he first posted it at 13 and asked if he had the stock exhaust he said no so I moved on....it was also out of my price range, I had my mind set on spending $7-9,000 on an 07/08 G35x...but when he dropped it to 11,000 on a Saturday morning I thought what the heck, may as well go check it out and see if it's worth it to stretch my budget to get the more powerful 3.7 engine.

To my surprise the exhaust was actually a really deep nice sounding tone that wasn't even that loud and upon closer inspection it was Stillen and the cold air intakes I later found out were $500 online (Takeda Short Ram Dual). His ad didn't even mention the almost new all seasons with the extra set of brand new Hakka Rs....I took the tint off the fronts windows and bought a replacement G37x badge, it looks about 100x less ghetto now He told me he bought it about a year ago from a Ford dealer for 18 something. My only regret is I found out after that the 2010s got face lifts and look way nicer.

^ $10k a good deal for a 09 G37x including all the extra stuff you got with it. I'd jump on that deal too. Bought for $18k a year ago and let go for $10k.. fuck that sucks

There's a white 08 G37s coupe that is always up on kijiji for different prices. I'm pretty sure it's has a rebuilt title but whoever put it back together did a terrible job just by looking at the pics in the previous ads. I saw it was posted on kijiji through Regal auctions with a reserve of $8k or something. Looks like someone picked it up and now it's up for $14k lol

I think it has something to do with how the two countries handle allocations with ED cars essentially being sold directly by BMW NA rather than coming from the dealers pool.

    Too bad really.

Here i think the discounts are in line with the rest of the lineup, i don't think 5% off msrp for a well spec'd car is unreasonable. Just based on conversations i had with my salesman when I bought my last car there.
5% sounds like a good expectation and you're getting a decent deal at that price. I negotiated 7% off on a special order at bmw before but that was in 2010 and I think that was literally their rock bottom amount they were going to go on that.

Did you just sell your M to them or traded it on for a different car from them? If so, what kind? How is it? lol

Didn't want to make my a new thread but has anyone had someone back out on an "agreed deal" before?

Story time: I have a soft spot for notch back mustangs and have been looking for one kind of seriously for months now. Have a looking for ad on kijiji and been keeping an eye on there as well.

Guy messages me says he has one he'd likely sell. Tells me he has a lot of money tied up(paint, interior etc). So Friday past we're able to meet up, I have a long look at the car, we go for a drive and I decide I'd like to buy it.

So we get back to his house, I ask how much and we go back and forth a little bit. We finally come to an agreement on price, his words were that'll work, I'll go tell the wife. I respond with, I'll go get your money.

So I head to the bank to get the money and get back to his house, 30 minutes tops. Car is parked back in the garage and his other vehicle is back in the driveway. Go knock on the door and his wife answers, I ask if the husband is around. She acts a little surprised and said oh I thought he texted you, i said I'll have to check my phone (I keep it on silent). She let's me know she'll phone her husband to come back home.

In the mean time I get back in my vehicle and check my phone while waiting for the husband to get back. Sure enough I had a text stating "happy wife, happy life. Sorry no deal". As I finish reading the text, the husband arrives home, we have a very short conversation about not having a deal.

I leave and don't have a notchback. Needless to say I thought we had a deal.

Anyone else ever have a situation like that?

    My rant is over

Anyone want to sell a good notch?
