wonder how many quarter mile passes are on that?
    1/4 mile = 0.4km

    155km/0.4km= 387.5 passes

Which means he didn't complete one pass, so this was also clearly in an accident.

If you aren't getting solid interest after 8 days, then yes.
This is kind of a niche car though. You might get more interest from something that casts a wider net for enthusiasts. Kijiji people are mostly looking for appliances.

What ES said is right. If you have no interest, drop the price 'til you get interest.

That being said, if it's the same or slightly higher than other E550s but has really low kms (which I assume is the case), it might just be a case of waiting for the right buyer. Could take a while though, especially being the Christmas season.

If the car is a gem it can command a premium for sure, but the number of people willing to pay for a gem is few and far between.

I could have sold my car day 1 for 10k under asking. Had lots of offers around there. But waited a few months and almost gave up when someone flew out from Van to buy it because it was the cleanest one he could find in western Canada.

Just depends how much you need the money I guess.

That car can be cross shopped with a lot of other options. That works against you.

every car can be cross shopped... that's hardly the reason...

every car needs the right buyer. just needs time even if youve priced it right.

Yeah, I didn't articulate what I meant very well. Was trying to say something like it's a small niche car, but even within that niche, it's got lots of competition from other niche cars.

You sell a used Rav4, and while it's got a lot of competition, it's got a huge marketplace. An E550 Coupe has a tiny marketplace, and people looking for a luxury personal vehicle will cross shop themselves into other marketplaces, like luxury sedans and wagons, but someone looking for a luxury sedan won't look at a coupe.

Or that's my theory. One way or another it'll sell eventually if the price is right.

Has nothing to do with ask price... you just can’t win, price it reasonably and you get no action... price it slightly above wholesale and fucking morons offering less than wholesale... moral of the story is ghost ride it off a cliff cause cheap pricks are frustrating as hell to deal with.

Not many people want to spend +$20k on a 12 year old car, I’ve considered yours but can’t justify the price

A 12 year old car still has $60k+ car repair costs

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

If you don't want to drop it to market price (i.e. the correct selling price for our market), throw it on BaT? How much are you asking?

It’s currently the cheapest in the country... and not even for condition and kms... cheapest. Period. All I get now is offers less than what I have gotten from dealers.

I’m not very worried about it though, I ignore probably 90% of inquiries, if it’s not “when can I view the car” I’m probably not responding. 100% not if it’s anything to do with a sight unseen offer... unless it’s full ask at this point.

With what I’ve put into it, and the depreciation over the last 3 years at current ask I’m at about $1.20/km... so will probably just keep it till I half that. I’m not going to subsidize the next person’s ownership. Might as well enjoy it till I get my money’s worth... or can sell it for at least the equivalent of an E46 M3 value

For some reason depreciation seems to be worse now than I remember. Meaning it's harder to sell cars now than any time in the past. Maybe it just feels that way

Doesn't matter what other cars are priced at, if it's not selling, it's priced too high.

Your post basically just translates into you not wanting to sell the car right now.

Honestly, the worst part about selling used cars is all the stupid inquiries you get. Ignoring them is def the best way to go.

I assume it's amplified if you buy cars of higher value than their predecessors each time. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

I think this is more so true for nicer / newer cars. People just don't have the money to upgrade

    True say

Used car market is picking up whereas new cars are slowing down.

Higher end models aren’t moving as fast, but are still moving.

Most of the growth in the used market is cheaper econo cars.

The V8 M3s are very reliable. For the $21k asking price you could do the rod bearings; motor mounts while you're at it, and have a high reving V8 that will last up to at least 200k.
