Cheap manual V10 M6 with 80k. Rod bearings seem to be done too. https://www.kijijiautos.ca/vip/14093691/

It's modded and has a rebuilt title. I wouldn't touch that car if it was $10k less than listing price. It has brand new rear tires though, so I guess that's a plus

Rebuilt because of hail claim though, so at least that part isn't terribly sketchy. Be a fun car for sure!

Meh, those aren't catastrophic mods, you could always throw the stock shocks, exhaust and tune back if you are concerned. Rebuilt for hail damage is very common in the prairies. If it's good mechanically and PDR'd correctly who cares.

It's not the mods themselves that are concerning. Just the fact it's been modded, and bought at a discount (because of the rebuilt status)... both of those things point to it having a higher likelihood of mediocre maintenance history. If this car hasn't been maintained well, it'll cost $5k/yr just to keep on the road.

Based purely on how decent the ad was written (not by a dude bro) and that its in small town SK, and not the NE of Calgary - I'd wager that its actually a very well kept car.

Sending every oil change away for analysis usually means someone cares.

I get what you’re saying, but would you walk away from a car because its rebuilt status for hail damage?

Is there a way to distinguish why it has rebuilt status?

Aka what other reasons led to a 30,000 dollar car getting written off over hail.

It’s a car for a special line of owner end of the day. That makes it less valuable not more.

If you plan on holding onto a rebuild for a good while and the reasoning behind it being rebuilt titled isn't terrible, it can be worthwhile.

Selling a rebuilt status vehicle is terrible from my experience, definitely worth less than an active status but plenty of dummies offering pennies on the dollar.

A simple carfax would reveal status unless it has other hidden issues. I had a E90 M3 with a $20k PDR repair when it was a couple years old. Probably wasn’t a write off because of age. This M6 wasn’t so lucky.

For a weekend toy it’s a special car for sure and requires an enthusiast. I msgd him for more details since it’s in province.

I'd be looking for one selling from original owner, full service history; I'd bet "my" car costs less to keep on the road than yours.

And yeah, if they did actually send every oil change for analysis I would agree. Just because it's listed in a kijiji ad doesn't make it true though.

I'm not saying this car is a POS, all I'm saying is buying a super niche car that has outrageous historical maintenance costs, my focus would be around risk mitigation... and this car just doesn't fit the bill. Hence why I wouldn't touch it.

I would think an inspection could give you a reasonable idea if the mechanical bits had been switched out or repaired. I'm not an expert on that car, but from what I've heard is the SMG transmission is a big source of heart burn

Heart burn, and it’s piece of junk to drive.

None of which matters when you hear the unholy wail of one of the last great V10’s.

That it is, however its a manual, plus BE bearings/ARP bolts. I think the only other major engine issues are the Vanos solenoids and throttle actuators. Don’t think a PPI would reveal any issues, it would be a wait to fail item.

Seems okay priced for AB but well over ON, QC and east. Can’t imagine a hot market for these cars in current oil market...

How much room do dealerships have in their price?

Page not found. You really need to snip an image of the kijiji advert if you want people to be able to discuss it.

Not trying to advertise or toot my own horn but I’m looking to offload my C5Z for around $20k if anyone is looking.
