I've been watching From. I think it's on Prime, but it's a paid sub.
I think it's a Canadian series filmed in Nova Scotia. It's crazy good. Kind of like LOST x Silent Hill. I usually don't watch creepy TV shows or movies at night before bed, but I couldn't stop watching.
Such a good show. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

"From" is excellent, using the lore of Irish Fairies and modifying slightly. Really great show, looking forward to season 3.
Does this show feature Gabriel Byrne? I saw some clips here and there of it, but haven't ventured out to find it. If it's the newer show with Byrne you're referring to, I'll go find some way to watch it tomorrow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Seal Team - Tyler Grey, plays a Seal on the show, but is also the main technical adviser as well. Tyler is former US Army, and was in the Combat Applications Group special missions unit circa the mid/later 2000s. On a raid on a target in Iraq, he ran into fire as soon as making entry as one of the primary assaulters, and then was blown up by an explosive device/grenade right at the door as well.
When he landed he noticed his right arm was hanging by a single thread of tissue/tendons. Walked back out and then the medics tied him to a helicopter which got him to the surgeons in minutes. They saved his arm, but he's endured dozens of surgeries, becoming addicted to overprescribed opioids for the great pain he was in, having to go through withdrawal/cold turkey whilst getting even more surgeries, etc. Made his way back to working on the private security/etc side of the house, and having to learn to do everything left handed, as his right has only a fraction of its former capability. He's an incredibly nice and funny guy, who through perseverance and sheer strength has made a new life for himself.
There was an excellent documentary done on Tyler and a fellow soldier/friend he was in the Ranger Regiment with prior to going to Delta, showing what they went through. "That which I love destroys me". You can watch it free on Vimeo now here, if anyone is interested.

Cool. The realism seems great, not the same cringe that a lot of these Hollywood shows have.

If you haven't read the books and are enjoying it, all the more power to you. I was looking forward to it but it has already deviated so far from the first book I just can't be bothered. Do these people not know how to read? It seems that the producers now just get someone to give them a 5 minute synopsis of the plot and just go, "We can do it better than the author of a book that has sold millions of copies." They ruined Dune and they've ruined this as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That’s fine. I know full well movies never compare to the books they’re based on. I’m a realist to the volume of dialogue and budgetary allowances a movie is limited by. The typical audiobook I listen to while driving is 20-24 hrs long so much needs to be pared down making a movie from it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Land of Bad
Excellent
In all fairness, Liu gave his blessing for the changes from the book, and a lot of those changes allowed them to make a more coherent plotline for TV. Connecting all the characters into a single friend makes far more sense for a TV arc than 5 or 6 completely independent characters, like they are in the book. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I'm curious to know how the next 2 books get adapted, assuming it gets picked up. Shit gets wild on those two books.

First book is very linear and not much actually happens.
1 season into From. Been binging it and it's definitely binge worthy, great show.
Invincible. Great one liner superhero anime tropes.
DXY 100
Dream Scenario with nic cage. Really enjoyed it.
