Watched the 2021 remake of Dune. Apparently leaving Netflix next week. Liked it a lot better than the original, could only get through about 30 minutes of the original. Might have to go back and retry, but this remake was a little like Empire Strikes Back in the sense that it left half the movie untold, and waiting for Dune 2 (apparently next year).

It was planned as a 2 part film from the beginning. You ever watch the SciFi Dune series circa 20 or so years ago? It's excellent, it was the highest rating show ever on that channel, and held that record for a long time, for a reason.

That makes a lot of sense. I'm definitely interested in Pt2 now.

When I saw the trailer for that I was like man this feels way to familiar and yeah.. realized he "redid" the movie Austrailia and somehow made it into a mini-series.

They didn't change the cast because its all borrowed film and clips from the original movie. Some of it is footage that hit the floor or never made it in.

At first I was like “yup, I knew Kidman was a vampire” but then I was like “oh, that’s just 2008 Kidman”

The show wasn’t bad, I never saw the movie either. I’d say show over the 2:45 long movie
