A quick Google of "straight pride parade" first yielded one in Seattle where nobody showed up and the organizer blamed the gays.

    Fifth result was: http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-93438.html

Maybe you should throw him a PM

I feel like this is a very fair statement for the North American version of the event.

My very first full day in Amsterdam, we woke up to house music playing on the canal, I had no clue what was going on, neither did my wife, turns out it was the Gay Pride Canal that day .

The morning started out with electronic music coming from canal boats, mostly people in their 20s to 50s with or without children, all flying a rainbow flag on the back of their boats and usually wearing pink, all congregating into the Amstel River, it was literally one big party all over the city, it didn't matter if you were gay or straight I didn't see one person in a outlandish costume or stereotypically obscene attire at all (save for girls sunbathing on the forward decks of boats ), people just wearing normal clothes and copious drinking in public by locals/participants/uninformed tourists like myself, just all enjoying the festivities.

Then again, Holland is probably the most liberal country I've ever visited in my life and some girl was telling us they have the highest population per capita of LGTBs in the world in Amsterdam, maybe not such a great comparison for that event.

People don't go and don't care because they have accepted the lifestyle and do not categorize them differently.

Its the attention whores that are out in full force, gay or not.. just attention whores.

'Twas a joke. The only thing I've ever gone and protested, true story, was a SINGLE union protest so the PC's didn't fuck up my pension.

Anything else really isn't worth my time, including people being gay or straight. I just hate the double standard, A790's post in that thread actually perfectly sums it up, you don't get equality and freedom by limiting other people
