He seems more like the fool in the end. Could have just paid the ticket and moved on with his life but instead had to deal with court proceedings/rulings for a year. I'm pretty sure the town did it just to fuck with him in return.

It's a problem when they arrest someone under the guise of harassment but then dinger over it because you didn't know the limits of your own laws well enough

He does not seem more the fool. Sure he seems immature for writing those things. but the town comes off looking much more foolish. Getting butt hurt over some immature scrawling...they should have taken their money and moved on. Instead they arrested the guy over it! The guy then did the right thing a sued after the bogus harassment charges were decidedly thrown out. I hope the stupid little town had to pay a hefty settlement. Get over yourselves.

I got pulled over for doing 25 in a 20 mph zone, in the middle of absolute nowhere in Northern Nevada. Cop was some pimpled faced kid, likely fresh out of cop school.

I told him I was never going to pay the ticket, he got all hot and bothered with his hand on his gun and told me that I was going to agree to pay it or he would be hauling my ass to jail right then and there, and I could talk to the judge about it on Monday (this was a Friday afternoon).


I crumpled it up on my passenger seat, agreed that I would be paying it in full, and drove the hell out of there.


So much for the first amendment. And I'm not even black.
