I used this to run every car I've sold over the past 10 years to see how many are on the road. Some of them I sold to complete idiots and I was sure they would have been crashed by now but somehow they haven't!

How accurate are those reports supposed to be?

I ran the free carproof last week and the auto check report a few mins ago.

The carproof pulled up the hail damage claim I made in mid september for $11,400.

The auto check gives the car a clean bill of health.

How long does it take for a report to come back?

I'm doing a lookup on something I'm looking to buy. If it comes back with no information on any liens or if it's stolen or anything, I'm okay right? Or should I check with the registry too?

It comes back right away, however, this report doesn't have the lien information.

Just sweet talk your registry office, I have gotten a free report for liens on a couple occasions.

Thanks Rico! Interesting... My Carproof has a record for an insurance claim from when I was driving a Uhaul and filed a claim.... bizzare. Its for $0.00 but still.

Also decided to run it for my Old Acura Legend, seems that it had a pretty major accident a few years back but the registration was renewed in spite of it being a total loss. Hasn't been registered in 4 years now though, which makes me think it is rotting away somewhere. Also, the Carproof is missing two claims I had on the vehicle.
