The fuck? You sound like you actually know what you're doing.
We used almost our entire set of RE71R this weekend between Cole and I :O
I hope someone comes out with a similar competitive tire so we have more options next year.

I am hoping that Dunlop comes out with a competitive version of the ZII. It feels so much better than the other tires out there, but being an autox-er, I have to go with the fastest ones available.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I am just hoping Toyo's AutoX tires are not a flop. They sponsored the Canadian nationals, which is awesome... but when they went to award the prize for running Toyo's... one guy won by default because everybody there was on Bridgestones or Dunlops, lol.
The best part of life isn't around the corner. It IS the corner.

The fuck? What kind of a real car, or real driver uses TC???Originally posted by Sugarphreak
If you are going out there for the first time, just use sport mode (click the TC button once). Also, if it is raining or the pavement is cold as ice... sport mode is a really great tool for getting a clean run right off the bat without too much risk of losing it. It is not that invasive, and even in dry conditions I rarely feel it get involved. We had an event in the rain last weekend, and I easily pulled ahead of where I should have been comparatively in raw time using this tool. With TC full off, the result was too unpredictable; one part would be great, while the next corner it would let go.
Noticed you lacked any info on aligning the car. From my AutoX days, a solid dialed in alignment geared for AutoX is the 2nd biggest performance boost in stock class right behind tire choice. Or are you just keeping that shit secret? haha

Toe is a pretty good setting to help stabilize that rear end a little better. What you lack in outright grip, you make up for in driver confidence (and consistency) so in the end you drive faster because you can drive closer to the edge without losing it.
And yea, total dig at your real car thread.TC is a interesting aid, in fact, back in the day when I ran my SLK32 competitively, the chassis was terrible for rotation out of the box, and I had front and rear toe setup so that the car would rotate really well, but under hard transitions or heavy trail braking, it was a "I'm spinning out now" sort of rotation that can't be saved. So for specific corners, I'd flip on traction control so the brakes would brake each wheel differently to keep the rear end stabilized, and turn it back off at the apex to power out properly. Best of both worlds! haha
Mercedes actually fixed that problem in future traction control programming in the newer cars, under braking, even with TC fully off, it engages and brakes individual wheels at different rates as necessary to make sure you don't spin out under the brakes.
I'll try to make it out at some point. Didn't realize having 3 kids is hard work.![]()

Perfect, I'm going for wheels and 205/50/16s, rear Konis and a cat back I think. Did you run full stiff on the Konis?
