They are ahead in polls right now by a few points.
Well, they'll be in a little bit of power, as the PC's minority government official opposition. Cutting deals with Mulcair will give them more votes on the floor.Originally posted by BavarianBeast

I Really liked Truedau, the original.
This Truedau "light" version is to wishy washy, fence sitter wussy.
No backbone to stand up for whats right. C51, TPP etc...
NDP will crush this one.

Man I'm on the fence on who to vote for.
There's some decent stuff in that liberal proposal that's for sure. Mind you between the new provincial and a new federal top earners tax bracket some Canadians are gonna be paying out the ass lol.

Some new polls must have come out since yesterday (looks like they did) as CBC poll tracker aggregate said the Conservatives were in the lead.Originally posted by Aleks

They still predict a Conservative minority though. NDP has dropped like a rock though, holy crap (and thank god!)
This site is usually the best for latest poll numbers (yes its CBC but the data is from the founder of threehundredeight.com):
http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives...015/index.html
as of now, 32.4% liberal, 31.6 con, 25.3% NDP. But that's just the poll average.
for seats, looks like cons are still ahead with 122. liberal close behind at 118 and ndp at 96.
it's going to be very close.

I don't know about that with their support in every poll I have seen dropping. Nanos has them 14% behind the liberals and 9 behind the conservatives.Originally posted by Toma

The NDP are falling because they are making promises they cannot keep. Mulcair has a lot of sound bytes as to what he is going to do, but their website has no details as to how he will actually do anything or how he will keep a balanced budget doing it.Originally posted by schocker

Only the die-hard NDP voters are sticking with the NDP now. Most of the undecided left are moving over to the Liberals. Even the undecided center voters seem to be moving over to Trudeau as well.
It also wouldn't surprise me if many small-c conservatives give Trudeau a shot too considering he has a number of unique platform policies (legalization of pot, infrastructure spending, the CCB plan etc) that may pull over some one-platform voters.
Albertans however will continue to believe that somehow Harper will change the price of oil and bring prosperity back to Alberta.
I don't think anyone believes that. (Hope not)Originally posted by sputnik

However he is still the least likely to harm or kill our golden goose.
Have the Liberals come out and publicly made any claims that should have Albertans worried about the oil patch? I know NDP has with their cap&trade (i.e. NEP 2.0) but haven't really heard anything from Trudeau that should scare us.Originally posted by Inzane

I'll vote strategically to help ensure the NDP doesn't win. I'm in Heritage so it'll most likely be Harper
If you read the PDF, there is a section about putting a price on carbon but it goes into no details on how.Originally posted by sabad66

This alone means NDP is ultra dangerous to vote for. Regardless how you hate Trudeau or Harper.
I like the fact he says he'll replace the F-18s, don't like the fact that he's basically said he's ruled out the F-35 (which is strange since pretty much every other nation that had held an open process to choose a new fighter has chosen the 35). Interesting talk on the firearms front, interesting talk on the taxes front. I'll have to look through the whole thing tonight when I have more time.
