Ultralink Caliber HDMI High Speed Cable w/ 4K, 3D, ARC and Ethernet Support - for home theater (receiver/projector) are these cables any good? Or cheaper alternatives equally as good?

What kinda gear do you have at home to justify an 8m $190 cable is my question.

^ only the best bro.
HDMI is a digital signal. if it works. It works. If it doesn't work it doesn't. Pretty simple.
You could buy a tv for the price of that cable. Try to wrap your head around that concept. Complication of TV. HDMI Cable. TV. Cable.

Mono price is fine for 1/10th the price. I even splurged once and bought a monoprice redmere cable for $30 because I needed a 25 ft cable.
Holy crap - thought only MONSTER was into the BS pricing game of ULTRA expensive cables ....
lol, if you like the smell of your own farts then those are better cables.
They need to go in the ceiling so I don't mind paying more but I have no idea if it makes a difference or not.
If they're going into the ceiling why risk having to replace it in the future with crappy $200 hdmi cables? These bad boys are where its at http://www.amazon.com/AudioQuest-Dia...est+Diamond+8mOriginally posted by BigShow

I presented it to my girlfriend and she quickly agreed to marry me based on my sound decision making skills alone. As soon as the first loan is paid off I will be buying 3 more of these beauties to further enhance my life. Do yourself a favor and embrace the awesome that is: AudioQuest Diamond!

Remember, there are different HDMI ratings/protocols though, and you HAVE TO GET THE RIGHT CABLE.
This has nothing to do with "quality" though, and everything to do with your equipment.

Otherwise, a $5 cable from princess auto produces the same quality as a $200 monster cable.

LOL $189 for a HDMI cable. I'm actually disappointed to see Memex carrying stuff like that.
Buy from monoprice or just get something like this (I don't know exactly what you need but you get the idea):

Might as well get a cable that does something (you can thank me later)

Upscaling HDMI, not really all that useful for scaling from 1080p to 4K, but does absolute wonders for people upscaling their Xbox 360 from 720p to 1080p. Never use the Xbox 360 upscaler to 1080p, it sucks - period.
Don't know why it isn't more popular, I guess its a little late to the game. That and it can't be used like a regular HDMI cable (there is no way to unforce the signal upscale)

Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
WTF upscaling cables?
With the exchange rate, it's cheaper to go local (ACC).

It does sound crazy, upscaling cable. But it does give people a chance to try the Panavision upscaler instead of whatever may or may not be built into their HDTV.
It butchers reds, especially red text - but greatly improves nearly every other visual aspect. Am I crazy or not? Like a used carsaleman says "How do you know until you give her a test drive?"
BTW: The Seiki U-vision upscaler cable is a permanent attachement to my Xbox 360. There are a rare few things that really get to stay in my tech collection as a standout.

It's worth every penny. I use it on my Playstation 3 to go to my 46" Samsung LCD. I definitely see the difference between this and the $4395 8' Topaz braided HDMI cable I used to use.
