Anyone ever stayed in a hostel in Mexico?
Sooo I'll be heading to Mexico but booked my ticket a couple nights before since it was a few hundred cheaper.
Anyways I know there is some hostels in Playa Del Carmen but I feel a little sketched out using it, I'm not really sure why though I've used hostels all over Europe and had no issues..
Should I just pay a bit more and AirBnB or are hostels okay? I'd rather be in a hostel if it's safe to meet some people as well...

I stayed at hostels in Cancun and it was fine -s tayed at Hostel Quetzel (sp?) and I recommend it. Not the same as Europe but still lots of fun. I did AirBNB for Tulum and that was great too.

Ended up getting a Hostel for a few nights while waiting for the apartment In Playa Del Carmen, stayed at "The Yak" it was pretty good a big mix of spanish/english speaking which kinda sucked for me since I'm awful at spanish.
Its def not the same vibe as Europe and there was two people in the room staying over a month + I'm sure there is a lot more people in that hostel like that.
Don't feel it was as organized as the Europe hostels i always stayed at but I felt 100% safe always and didnt have any issues soo it was good..
