    Default Fix carbon fibre

Just wondering if anybody has good experiences fixing carbon fibre body parts.

I have the werks 1 cf lip on my 997. Wasn't paying attention one day when parking and hit the curb. Such an idiot.

Now I'm looking to get it fixed and looking for places that ppl recommend.

It really depends on the extent of the damage, as well your definition of fix, if you break the weave you will never have it look the same again. You would simply use fiberglass or body filler to repair and paint over it

    Exactly what shadowz said.

Resin and/or clear coat can be applied to restore the finish but the weave can't be repaired.

There is a YouTube video on how to do this. Basically they put a plastic backing behind where you are going to put the new CF sheet. Glue it in place. Cover with a small CF sheet to fill in any irregularities and cover with a larger sheet to make it more uniform. Then squeegee, heat, seal, paint, etc.

You should post a photo, then some of us can help direct you to where to get the work done

A pic would help. If weave is busted, you could get it close-ish. But if you want the weave redone and matching my guess is money ahead buying a new one and selling this one to offset the cost.

Here's a pic. There is 3M on the lip which can be seen via the squiggly white thing
