.
Better wait for Obama to politicize it first....then it will be fair game.
We need a serious conversation about banning school shootings.
I say they do nothing because second amendment and don't touch my guns.

I do get great service there, especially when I mention my name, haha.
This wasn't a random person deciding to shoot up a school, it was a fight between two groups of people that escalated. Even the police don't know why shots were fired yet.
Should also be noted that NAU prohibits students from carrying firearms on school property, exactly like the Oregon school does.

Yah at least this one wasn't planned, still brutal..(at least doesnt seem planned as of now)

So its a mixture of both. UCC has a policy prohibiting weapons, but has to provide an exemption for those allowed by law to CC.
In the end it's a shooting that is tangentially related to a school only because it happened near it. But reporting it as a school shooting sounds like a better headline than reporting a bunch of people were already fighting in a parking lot and some people wound up shot as a result.

Best advice?
Use the FBI, DOJ and CDC for stats.
But the stat that states a firearm was simply present in the house in 51% of spousal homicide cases is meaningless. It's the same as saying that there was a knife present in the house in 100% of cases of spousal homicide. Makes for a great sound bite, but really means nothing since even if a firearm was not used, it still gets lumped into the stat since it was in the house.
Even though crimes committed with firearms are declining in the US, and have been for some time, people seem to believe that things are worse off now. I'd assume this is due to easier access to information and the news becoming more and more sensationalist in the hunt for ratings and revenue.

Guns? Propaganda stats? Seriously?
I'm thinking it's something MUCH bigger. Even bigger than TOMA.
Start at corporate greed (yes, even genocide), corporate lobbying, governmental corruption, and the poverty and propaganda that will kill us all.
There's a reason why the corps have bought out the media. Think about it.

Now let's start a new thread on "slavery". I'll refute that not only is slavery NOT abolished (despite your stupid white picket fence illusion), but it's occurring more than ever.
