Tried calling their service number today, you cant even use the trick to call them anymore they just hang up on you. I dont see how anyone can call them unless they limit certain provinces. Looks like we will be going to the service canada building :/
Does anyone know if you can receive full EI and full CPP at the same time - my gut instinct would be no.
The service Canada building staff are not particularly useful. The people there are generalists and often don't know as much as the people on the phone. Try caling again, or tomorrow, as the first day of the week is usually busiest. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
EDIT: I'm pretty sure that you havce to qualify under some kind of "special or unusual" circumstances to receive EI and CPP at the same time. I would say in most cases you can't be eligible for both. But that's not based on any facts.

Is ei paid weekly or biweekly
so my MIL amount of $300 for a biweekly amount it fuck all really. I guess her CPP and OAS security payments must be playing into that somewhat.
I'm shocked she qualifies at all. But yeah, they probably are deducting because of cpp and oas. Current max payment is 1094 biweekly before deductions.
All based on hours worked, earings in those hours, and deductions. Did she work full time before the EI claim?

Yeah. But only at minimum wage.
She applied for EI Sickness Benefits and now that im filling in her reports she started to get the EI as of yesterday, im unsure for how long it lasts but every weeks reports are going to be the same, didnt work, didnt do any courses, not looking for work & not able to work.
If you haven't I suggest doing it... https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-...y-account.htmlThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It gives you lots of information including that of your claim.
Thanks for the tip, I cant believe how easy this process is now. with her sin and access code I was able to sign up and have access to all her stuff in 5 mins. I remember when I had mine I had to wait for two letters in the mail. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm going to restart this thread, since I've been giving EI advice to a few of my buddies who were laid off this week. Anyone have update tips and tricks? Thoughts on the CERB thing?
Found this flow chart, not sure how accurate it is:
