    If that's a true story, that's hilarious.

Esq. at the end of the name is for legal counsel. Stands for esquire.

I switched from Ma'am to Miss after a server complained about how it made her sound like an old lady.

Now I use Ma'am as the subtlest of insults.

Yeah I've dealt with a character like that. What's your name? Oh it's Dr.XYZ. No, what's your first name? pause.... (reluctantly gives me his first name.) I continue to address him by his first name at every subsequent encounter. Apparently I'm one of the only people who would call him by his first name.

I just find it awkward to be addressing someone in a non-professional setting as "Doctor." It could've also been the fact that he was a Dentist. I know that they're technically "Dr's" but to me, you're a Dentist.

Just booked a hotel. There were a ton of title options. Was very tempted to select captain.

Saving "*See you next time" for when they are leaving? The classic insult in the service industry.

I had a similar issue when I called into Westjet to modify a booking. The lady told me that Master meant I was a child, and I corrected her. Maybe in England and in a lot of other countries, but in Canada it is a term of distinction and the bitch better not call me a child:

Not that I am actually a judge or anything but it shut her up. Made sure she switched my girlfriend to Master as well.

    100% truth my friend.

Back when I was in university, I was RSVPing to some conference I was involved with as a student. There was an option to select your title from a drop down list.
I selected Maestro...felt very fitting. Unfortunatly, they only printed my first and last name on my nametag...I was very insulted!

A funny thing - My dentist, and my Chiro generally go by first name.

In this professional setting, I'm actually more comfortable addressing them by the titles which they worked bloody hard for.

Apparently in places like Europe other professions are recognized like doctors.

I was referred to as Engineer "Killramos" by a relative from Italy once. He was dead serious to.

Esq. sounds like it's only confined to lawyers in the states?

"It is used to signify a title of dignity, which ranks above gentleman and directly below knight."

    sounds good!

When selecting title for your name on a booking, Sabre thinks the following: Master means male under the age of 12, Miss means female under the age of 12, Mr means male 12 or older, and Ms/Mrs means female 12 or older. It'll add M, F, or CHD to your booking as appropriate for the selected title.

You may use it as a part of your rap name. e.g., Sir Mix-a-Lot
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
