True, and I am happy about that, but at the same time, to assume a refugee who may not even speak english can start immediately working a job (and a full-time job at that) is hard to imagine, all while supporting a family in a brand new country.

Not that these people will be homeless, but if I had the choice, I'd prefer fewer refugees and a larger amount of $$$ per person spent on those fewer refugees if we are going to do this right. "Wealth" is the number one pre-determining factor in anyone's success, bringing 25k people over and not being able to give them the "hand up" they need seems silly.

Yes, agreed here, why do they need to be relocated to a major city, why not like Abbotsford or Chilliwack or other cities that have ample capacity. For Alberta, better to have them go to Lethbridge, Medicine Hat or Red Deer.

Its not just about rent, its about integration which is far more likely in major urban areas than in some pasty white town in the middle of nowhere where everyone at the local Tim Hortons stops talking/eating and stares at you when your Syrian family walks in the door.

Its not a white thing either, when I travelled to non-white countries it was the same thing in the small towns.

No kidding. I would hate to be a Syrian refugee in those white-trash redneck towns.

I really like Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Nice and warm in the summer.

I don't know why everyone thinks 25K in 4 weeks is realistic anyway.

That's all opposition and media talks about.

Lol, what the fuck is Russia going to do to Turkey? The Turkish Air Force is one of the most advanced in the world; they'd wipe the floor with the Russians.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Turkey must be a problem. How is it that Turkey is the access point for foreigners to enter Syria to fight along ISIS. Shouldn't they be closing that border or have much more strict access to Syria?

Not only they kinda support ISIS but paying them for oil. They also like ISIS because they hate the Kurds and don't want the Kurds to have more power in the region.

They will do something when pressured but will usually let everything slides if it's in their interest, terrorist or not.

Terrorist organization is pretty much like pirating groups right now. There is no way in hell you'll ever get rid of them and each is trying to outdo one another for glory and recruiting purpose.

Common misconception. They can indeed fly, but they require the assistance of jet engines in order to do so. Jet engines in the wild are, unfortunately, quite rare.
