Hi All,
I am out exploring the mountains of Togo, right along the border of Ghana.
I am loving this place! Much cleaner than nearby countires and really, really friendly people.

Those are some sketchy looking bridges. I've been following and enjoying your trip. Keep it up and be safe!
For those of you that enjoy Dan's adventure, you may also enjoy this trip report from a trip across the Congo. Much shorter than Dan's expedition, but still a really interesting read as they face a lot of challenges.

Awesome read, this was actually the first "expedition" I followed. Which brought me to Grecy's first trip to Central/South America.Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

Hi All,
Nigeria is rolling along.
I drove in, through an interesting Immigration post and did not get any paperwork for my Jeep at all.
I really hope that does not become a problem.....

On the first day I went through a lot of intense military checkpoints, and had to deal with prices magically going up...

There are daily updates on The Road Chose Me, and Facebook and Instagram. Don't miss a day as I drive across Nigeria!

Hi All,
Ahhhh, I got the website fixed, sorry it's been offline.
When in doubt, turn off code you wrote yourself

Hi All,
I am roaming around the mountainous NorthWest of Cameroon, absolutely loving the lack of humidity and cool nights.
Slowing down is also really nice after the hectic pace of Nigeria.

Hi All,
I am absolutely loving the mountains of Cameroon.
Warm days, cool nights and almost no humidity.
Sleeping through the night is a novelty!
Also, the people are fantastic!

Hi All,
I am continuing around Cameroon, loving every second of the cooler mountain air.
The scale of Chinese road construction here is staggering, the jungle is being smashed down faster than my brain can comprehend!

Hey All,
I am still absolutely loving Cameroon!
In a single day I hiked to the summit of Mount Cameroon and back down again, over 20,000 feet of elevation change in a singe push.
To say that it kicked my *** is an understatement!

After that, I went in search of some R&R, and found great camping on the black-sand beach near Limbé.
Amazingly, the oil refinery right next door did not diminish the beauty.
As usual, the ocean is bath water warm.

Hey Everyone,
I am a little behind on editing video...
Here is what 5 days of slogging through West African mud in Ivory Coast looks like.
I would love to get feedback on these videos.
What do you want to see?
More or something?
Less of something?
let me know!

Glad the majority of western roads are paved. What a mess.
Yeah, but where's the fun in that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have to keep reminding myself if I wanted good roads I should just go back to life in Canada.... which makes me enjoy this all the more!
..
Cameroon has been absolutely fantastic, though all good things must come to an end.
I spent even more time at beach-side paradise, searching for turtles on the border with Equatorial Guinea, one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Now I am cutting inland through the thick jungle, heading for Gabon.

Not to mention, as soon as there are good, paved roads, giant tour buses full of people descend upon the area. Hotels/resorts get built along with shopping centres...the whole works. Rough roads = more space to yourself. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
