Already have this one. Damn good price, it's $30 cheaper than their usual sales price.

edit: I'll find the recal cert when I get home if I can find it.
I do the same thing when done using - unwind and set to zero so it doesn't stretch the spring.

Picked one up at noon btw from the Dalhousie CT location.
Hardware isle only had 1 left, but the end cap at the isle had more, not sure how many though.

The smaller 3/8" one is on sale as well btw.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I will probably pick up a 3/8" as I already have the 1/2". Would work far better in small spaces. The 1/2" has been great though assuming it is still in spec.

    For accuracy they're surprisingly accurate.

For quality they're crap. One of their heads stopped ratcheting on me (it would just spin and spin and spin and...), the other the gears developed a flat spot after a year of use so you'd be torquiiiing and SLIP.

I much prefer my Jet Tools and Gray Tools torque wrenches.

They are lifetime warranty. All mastercraft stuff used to be, now it's just their "MAXIMUM" stuff. Bullshit if you ask me.

Anyways, I bought the 1/2 and the 3/8 last night. Richmond had a shit load of 1/2's left but only maybe 3 3/8's left when I got mine.

It's weird though, I bought a regular Mastercraft ratcheting screwdriver last night that has a "lifetime" warranty. Maybe it's just some of the regular line that has it?

I also picked up a 1/2 at Richmond at 830 and there was a ton of stock left!

picked up mine last night at Calgary NW (Sarcee). They had 10-20 of the 1/2 and about 10 of the 3/8. They may have more in a different location that I didn't see (got mine from the regular shelf location).

Meh. I wouldn't use it on an engine build, maybe for wheels or light duty jobs it's okay.

I bought one a couple years ago and it started slipping after about 3 months of use, bought another and same thing happened in a few months.

In summary I gave them both away and bought a Snap on, no issues since.

I'd say the vast majority of us are using them for swapping wheels and that sort of stuff so for me the price is right. For sure, if you're an engine builder go all out on pro quality.

Tough to beat it for the price.

I've been using mine for a few years for light duty stuff and have had zero problems with it. I treat it pretty delicately tho, make sure I never drop it use it for anything other than torquing.

If you take anything I have to say seriously, you're gunna have a bad time.

Anyone in the know, with these 75 and 80% sales they have.. Are they losing money, hoping to just get you in the store and buy more? Or are they making a killing at regular price and lower sales prices. ?

That is probably about right. I would never buy anything mastercraft at regular price as you know it will go on sale, especially the tool boxes and ratchet sets. I would say since I only do light automotive work the quality is fine for me and I will continue to pick, up items as I see them on sale.
