    Default Good downtown tailors?

Any suggestions as to a good tailor with decent pricing downtown? I've tried a few near my house (Westhills), and most are terrible and over-priced.

I brought my blazer to get fitted and some pants to Henry the tailor at his Marda Loop location. It's not downtown but close to where you live, and he seems to have a good rep on beyond and Calgary in general. He's really good to deal with, nice guy. Picking up my stuff this weekend.

I think it's $12 to get a pair of pants hemmed.

Jaafar's Tailor downtown is great, and reasonably priced.

Giovanni's Tailor is good too (out West of downtown on 17th ave) but he's $$$$

+1 for Henry. If you want to deal with him, he mostly works out of the Macleod/Heritage location, his wife is mostly at the Marda Loop location. Both are great people.

I used Jaafar's on 8th Ave and was happy with the price/service/product also.

Anyone know if winter parka's can be altered? I found my North Face parka at my parent's house but I find the sleeves too long.

I went to Jaafar's Tailor to hem jeans and it was shit. When the guy was pinning the jeans, he pins them way too short. I asked for it to cover my socks and shoes and he says OK, he'll make them longer. When I go to pick them up, they're too short.

I used the marda loop location for my suit pants and it worked out. They couldn't find my pants when I showed up to pick them up though but I went to grab dinner and they found them before I finished.

Can you describe your experience? I walk by his place just about every day and I've been meaning to go in for a new suit.
