Default Subaru Unveils Another Impreza Concept

Fresh off the unveiling of the Impreza 5-door Concept in Tokyo, Subaru is taking the wraps off of the Impreza Sedan Concept. I’ve been wrong about this in the past, but I’m going to do it again and say that the next Impreza, and other vehicles based on this concept will look pretty good. I say this because the concept doesn’t look overly conceptual and looks pretty production-ready. Throw on some normal door handles, properly sized side mirrors, raise it up a bit, put on some standard wheels and smooth out the taillights and you’ve got yourself a great looking vehicle. It’s quite the departure from this great looking WRX concept that unfortunately never materialized. Hopefully this more sedate looking Impreza concept sees the light of day.

Me likey. Though I am an unashamed Subie supporter. The only problem now though is that my inner hipster is coming out as more and more people are "liking" Subaru because of their styling. I had enjoyed, in the past, proclaiming my affection for an ugly car. Oh well...it's good to see them getting more mainstream success.

Can't wait for zero of these details to carry over to the production model

It looks a lot like the current WRX with some Mazda traits. I don't see it as a huge departure, although being a hatch is nice, and hopefully they bring the hatch back to the WRX and STI.

Kenny and I talked about how this was the first Impreza concept we'd seen that could be 95% production ready.

We're not sure whether that's good or bad though. Cause if it comes out like this, great, but that's not what Subaru does. They tone shit right down. If they tone this down even more, what are we gonna be left with?

Once you get rid of all the creases though it loses a lot of character that the concepts have.
After the sti concept, I can never trust subaru

Looks fairly generic to me. The headlights look goofy as there's an awkward space between the grill opening and the trailing of the lights. Gives off the appearance of a snout. When Mazda brought it out it looked fresh but by the time these cars come out it's going to look dated like a last gen Mazda.
