The 5.3 is the worst performance and reliability engine they offer.
Just over 506,000km on my 1999 5.3 and it doesn't burn or use any oil - guess that's 'worst' reliability?
    Will fuck off, again.

Make sure that you get the 3.42 or 3.73 gearing (5.3L). Skip the 3.08 gearing at all costs. 3.73 is best for power delivery and towing but your mileage will not be as good because the engine will sit at a higher rpm on the hwy.

Also, if you can, try to get a truck with the full center console vs the flip seat. It is a nice upgrade and really improves the usability of the interior.

Getting the redesigned exhaust installed next week. Along with 4 new wheels due to the chrome finish peeling around 3 of 4 valve stems.
Did they try to argue at all with the peeling wheels? I noticed the exact same issue with mine, have it booked in tomorrow at CMP. Hopefully they don't give me the run around.

No, just the worst statistical sampling. Don't prejudge them all based on your experiences. #5.3livesmatter

Yeah my 2000 5.3 has over 320k on it, still pulls as stong as it did when i got it 5+ years ago, although i only really use it for camping.

The 5.3 has been pretty bulletproof. There were some issues with oil consumption and lifter failure on the 07-13 models equipped with DOD, a simple tune to defeat cylinder deactivation and those problems are solved and you have a 500,000 k engine.

In all my years dealing with truck fleets I've yet to see a longer lasting gas engine than the 5.3/6.0 GM's.

    I LOVE my 6.2!
My older brother has my old 08 Sierra 1500 and it is well over 350k and still runs good. But you are correct, burns about 1 qt per 1500-2000k. Other then that, solid truck.

Do GMC usually do a year end clear out sale? I know they have a "sale" right now but Im noticing a lot of new 2017s still stocked at dealers that they will obviously want to clear out. Gimme dat DENALI

If you wait one more year the redesigned '19s should be out.

GM's first model run trucks always scare the hell out of me. I'd try and get a used 16, then flip into a 20 if the new design is what you want

I was just hoping someone would remember if any dealers do old model clear out. I can't for the life of me remember even though you hear the radio ads constantly lol. I'd hate to get a '17 then see them marked down in 4-5 months

I think GM is offering clearance on all the 17s right now 25% off sticker as well as 0% for 84terms.

0% for 84 is nice but it seems like ram is doing that too, and ford is 0% 72 so it's not really that special - and the factory rebates are for cash purchases only.

Well guess I'm joining the club. Sent out a bunch of low ball offers on trucks i was interested in and one dealer got back to me. Also happened to be optioned exactly like I wanted with all the mechanical options and none of the driver assist junk(except backup camera).

Ive heard them called so many different things: lightbar, rollbar, BajaBars,Headache rack, Chase Rack, GM officially calls them Sport Bars... I like them but I may take the plates out and run with just the bars, its only 6 torx bolts holding them in. Gonna throw some lights on the roof, just debating if I should go for 4 200w 6" HID spots or a couple 20" Led Lightbars Its got the 150A alternator and I just ordered the upfitter switch and 4 40A relays.

Westgate Chev in edmonton. Truck sticker was just a hair under 53k I offered 39 all in financed. They got back(couple weeks after the original offer) and said they would do 39,600+tax for a finance deal(0% up to 84) or 2000off for cash purchase. I'm super dubious of dealers so I half expected to get up there and find them tack on the usual BS dealer fees, especially since they knew I was traveling from out of town to purchase it but it was exactly what we agreed upon. Even had some locking lugnuts and front winter floormats handed to me when I came and picked it up in the morning which was never negotiated for and wasn't expecting. Very good Experience, Although I did have to sign up for a scotia bank CC to get a 1000$ rebate but it was no big deal as it was no fees and I cancelled it as soon as it showed up without even activating it.

They had an unreal amount of trucks on the lot so i think they were just trying to move the 17s. In fact all I saw was trucks and 6 high end corvettes which I had to keep myself away from...

One thing I'm tired of is bluetooth. Either I'm too stupid to figure it out, or it is legitimately this dumb. I have two 2017 trucks. Both show up on my phone as GM Intellilink. My phone can't tell one from the other, so when I change vehicles, it won't connect. The only way I've been able to figure out how to do it is unpair from the first truck, and pair to the second. And then do it again when I go back to the other truck. I can't change the name to GM 1 and GM 2, or anything, just to make the two different. I don't know if this is just another challenge of using a Windows phone, or if it's something everyone has to deal with.

I didn't have this problem when I had a 2014 Chevy work truck, and my 2014 ZL1, both using Mylink. I'm pretty sure I was using the same phone with Windows 10, but maybe it was my old phone with Windows 7. So I don't know what goes on.
