I have no experience with diesels but i figured it was highway!

I wonder what that new 3.0L diesel GM is pumping out these days can get in city with a tune?

Not sure about tuned or city but we had one that would get around 10.8-11L/100Km at 120km/h flat towing a Mazda 3 sedan.

Ha, yep, all highway at 110. Gets about 13 in city driving, about 15 in heavy stop and go. Ecu has been recalibrated to the larger tires and speedo/odo gps verified.
How do you get that level of mileage?

My dad's had a few diesels (including a dmax like yours. His current is a ~19 f350), and they're closer to 18-20l/100km in the city.

Do you just drive like a grandma everywhere? That seems exceptionally good. Almost unbelievably good. haha

Comes down to driving style, I've always obtained good mpg out of vehicles. But lots of coasting on my part, smooth on the throttle (especially off the line, jack rabbiting is awful for mpg and lots of diesel guys do it). I'm pretty gentle, except for the occassional blast so everyone knows how small my penis is.

Would be interesting to see how an actual hand calculation matches up with that, my dash is consistently lower than reality

Highway hand calcs check out. I've never ran a pure city calc, but based on my in city numbers, it's not too far off. I did 800kms on 85L with my topper on and winter diesel, so hwy is pretty accurate.

I don't really care about city mpg though, unless I drove 50+ km everyday in city, its pretty irrelevant unless you are a student or something...

    Shit lol

Delete. My 6.7 cummins went from 19-20l/100km to 15-16/100km overnight. Thats all city.

    Highway is around 12/100km.

EDIT: I would also describe my driving style as early 20s civic boi.

Oddly enough deleting did nothing on this truck, besides having regen turned off. But these dmax's (as well as most diesel I assume) had a passive regen that basically kept things clear if you did a lot of unloaded highway driving.

It's stupid quick though when it gets into 3rd/4th gear and you just blow through the converter to sit at 3k rpm lol

Don't think I posted a pic after getting the tires on. Falken Wildpeaks, 34x11.5. I am content with the look, would have preferred the Open Countries as they are something like 15lb's per tire lighter and god damn you can feel it.

Picking up my new Silverado 1500 LT TrailBoss tomorrow! Super stoked... 3.0L Duramax and 6'6" box in Glacier Blue with the jet black leather interior... Leaving from there to BC for a week or so and giving it a good trial run.

    Same poop, new pile

Edit - Here are some quick pics I took after getting back from Stony Plain to Carstairs. Average was 9.8l/100km, and I am surprised actually by how much snap that 3.0l diesel has!

Okay! So so Carstairs to Water Valley to Golden in BC. Super amazed with the fuel economy! Set the cruise at basically 10 over the entire way…
