We enjoyed the luau at the Hyatt, and we did like the dinner at humuhumunukunukpua (service was just superb, we requested a table with excellent view of the sunset and got just that).

Fred's in south Kihei is a good place for Mexican food. I also really enjoyed Morimoto in wailea for some tasty sushi. It's always good to stop in and eat at bubba gump shrimp co if you like shrimp.
Maui is my second favorite island after Kauai but you will have a awesome time in Maui.
Monkey Pod restaurant is popular...but was a total waste of time.Originally posted by JordanLotoski
Sorry, got busy and forgot about this thread. I booked at the Andaz Maui.
working on restaurants now.
Take some time during the day to look up "South Maui Fish Co." for lunch. Order the original Poke. It's a food truck run by some young guys that were commercial fishermen for 10 years in Maui. They source all their fish from local boats every day. Best Poke I've ever had.

Star noodle in Lahaina, or Dukes at the Honua Kai.
^heard great stuff about Star Noodle.
By Kihei, we liked Coconut Fish Cafe for some fish tacos

Then obviously there's Mama Fish House in Paia

My buddy accidentally went to Mama's Ribs 'n Rotisserie thinking it was the Fish House but said it was actually pretty good.

Star noodle is just ok. We went on two separate trips. Won't be going back.

For those looking for a quiet first class retreat I suggest four seasons hualalai. Actually typing this from my cabana overlooking the ocean. You can also vrbo villas and condos here in case u need multiple bedrooms.
Overall I enjoy the big island and Kauai the best in hawaii. But each island is so different for first timers I suggest checking out a couple if u don't mind looking about 4 hours of ur vacant due to transport
Oh snap, you'll get addicted to hawaii!!!
