Default 2008 328i Valve cover gasket - Grrrrrrrrr

*?(^ me.... I decided to do a valve cover gasket replacement on my e90. What should have been a four hour job, is now taking me close to three days.

It's not very often that I ask for help, but I'm truly stuck. I for the life of me can't get the valve cover off. It's off in the sense that I've unscrewed all the bolts, but when I lift it, it gets caught on the top right left hand corner near the wiring.

I've looked at many how to guides, and everyone seems to struggle with this part, but for the life of me I can't get past it.

Has anyone on here done this and is willing to give me a hand? I'll do my best to make it worth your while.

BTW, I live in New Brighton if it matters.

Haven't done one on an e90, but it looks straight forward. Did you detach the wiring harness as shown here?

Yeah, I moved the wiring harness. I attached a pic of where it is actually hitting at the moment.

I haven't see a guide on how to remove the silver thing...but that is what I am leaning towards.

Thanks for the tip. It shouldn't be the screws since the condenser hose is what's stopping it from going up. I can get the valve cover pretty high, but since it "grabs" the hose, the hose comes along with it. I don't want to go to high up, because I'm sure that hose will snap.

I've seen a few videos of people doing it, and they don't seem to have this issue.

Someone is going to come by and look at it Monday - I give up for now.
