If he's with just Enmax it should be all-in.

He's in Airdrie, so don't know if Enmax covers water and waste there.

The bills you posted are electricity and gas only right? So with water and waste it would be about $300?
I'm in Calgary and in a similar size house as Cos except 20 years older. Same amount of head count and my bill all in is $300-$360. I don't have AC.

Utility companies invest into "infrastructure" i.e. pipe or wire, facilities to your house and they need to recoup investment (at some guaranteed rate pretty fat one) and provide safe operational environment for the infrastructure, not to mention emergency services in case of issue. All this goes into service delivery rate. You can go and participate in Rate Application process as intervener and you will see all the elements that go into this.

Airdrie does water/waste through the city so its separate from Enmax

Can you scan and post one of your bills? I'm curious about the fees.

Thanks muchly. I used my electrical consumption based on what you pay, I would save a couple of bucks.

Rate riders on gas are 11.84 here in Calgary, that's the biggest difference.

Damn I use a lot of NG. What size is your place?

Well all these guys have to file audited financials every year.

ATCO is there, 58 pages of financials for 2014 that breaks everything down, including exactly what you're asking for.

Why is the delivery charge a blanket charge?

Shouldn't the delivery charge be variable based on consumption?

Why can't you just post the actual numbers he's looking for. We all know he has zero interest in actually finding out the real numbers. He just wants to feel like hes being scammed by the utilities.

All such regulated by whom exactly? The oil industry, or the politicians that got some cash under the table from such?

Again, don't get me wrong. And again note that I've always defended Alberta's oil production from the general fundamentalists nut cases.

And again for the third...well, you probably don't even want to know about that.

Seth1968 must be the angriest old man on Beyond. Arguing a point regardless of the information presented and refuses to do an ounce of research on his own. If he spent this whole time looking the information up he'd know all he needs to know about it by now. But instead wasted his time on Beyond.

Even if the answer is no you wouldn't get charged, Good luck with that. Gas heating is significantly more efficient than electric heating; costs would most likely outweigh any benefits.
