    Default AppRadio 4

I love my AVIC F700BT, but it's starting to show it's age and I'm thinking of upgrading. Anyone here using AppRadio 4 care to comment on it?

What I'm looking for are as follows:

    - uses Google Maps from my phone
    - BT audio streaming from my phone
    - integration with my iPod classic
    - integration with my factory steering wheel controls

As far as I can tell from some quick searching, most of the current AppRadio 4 models have this. It would also be great if there's a known by-pass so I can watch video while the vehicle is in motion during trips. With the AVICs, you just had to ground one of the wires, so I'm assuming the same could be accomplished with the AppRadio decks.

I'm very partial to Pioneer, but will consider other brands if they meet my needs.

haha, I'm still using my old F700BT as well in the daily/winter beater CRV.

Just installed an SPA-DH120 in my brothers S4 over the summer. Not as easy to bypass, I had to order a bypass chip/module from eBay. This is the one we used: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PIONEER-SPH-D...AAAOxyuGFRzhFN

It should do everything you listed. The only thing I honestly don't like about the deck is that there are no physical buttons or knobs. I love my old F700BT for that, I can push the buttons without looking. With the AppRadio4, the buttons are just touch buttons on the side that are flush with the screen surface, so I have to look at the radio. But the screen is awesome, nice and clear, and capacitive multitouch like the phones.

Right, good point about buttons and knobs! Damn, I do the same.

Regarding the touch screen, does it work with gloves on? That's one thing I love about the F700BT.

I had the AVIC-8000NEX in my corolla and loved it. Could use Google Maps from my phone, but it had on-board nav that I found MUCH better. Capacitive touch screen was wonderful, but I don't think you'd be able to use it with gloves on. I had mine installed at MSC, and they added the by-pass for me and did a phenomenal job. It also had physical buttons for the common stuff, which was great for while I was driving.

    Good luck with your purchase!
