We have an international flight from the airport departing at 0630 on a weekday. Besides taking the taxi at 0300, any other alternatives such as some private driver-for-hire?
Uber is definitely out of the question due to legality reasons.

What's your objection to the taxi option? I find time-calls to the airport very reliable. I generally use Associated for those, as I assume those drivers don't mind heading that way.
Could book a sedan service too. Although they are really just bigger taxis. Associated has those as well.

How much luggage and how many people and a location for pickup.

I like using Car2go to the airport. For me, it's about ~$25 for Car2go versus ~$50 for a cab.
The $25 savings might not be worth it if you have a lot of luggage for your international flight though.

Park at the airport?

Taxi's have always had reliable timing for me, but they are by far the most expensive option. You could try a town car, or bribe a friend with a bottle of booze.

Take the Calgary Transit Airport Shuttle, I have used it a few times and have been very pleased, plus the cost is only $3 I think.
Ooops, not sure if it runs this early.

Yeah Park and fly for sure. I live in McKenzie towne, it's 9.95 a day, so 2 weeks is almost equal to 2 taxis. Plus iIthink 10% off with AMA.
$55/week or $11.50 a week at the economy lots (Calgary Airport)
.

I'd just park there
Have a friend drop you off the night before and sleep at airport. Done.
But seriously I've had similar early flights before and it sucks. But there is zero traffic at 5am. You can get from anywhere in the city to the airport in under 30 min. You can leave your house at 5am sharp and make the 630 flight even with check-in luggage. If you pack smart and don't have checked luggage and check-in to get your boarding pass the day before this will be a breeze. Ask a good buddy or family to drive you in the morning and they can still get to work on time.
Airport will be quiet at 530 in the morning. Even with checked luggage there should hardly be any wait times.
Just ask and I'm sure one of Beyond's secret Uber Baller Blackness will come and pick you up.
Care to elaborate? Can you checkout from a Car2Go at the airport?Originally posted by PeterGTiR

I know your joking but I did this recently and it was an idiotic idea, I couldn't believe how foolish I was to sleep in a disgusting leather chair in a cold airport instead of paying $40 for a cab.Originally posted by Manhattan

They have their own little area to park, next to the park2go. They charge you $12.50 on top to use their airport location (in or out) plus their time fees.Originally posted by eblend

The Park2Go lot is a part of Car2Go's home area. Drive the Car2Go to the Park2Go lot and park the car in one of the designated spaces and then take the Park2Go shuttle to the departures drop off. The total cost is: regular trip cost + ~$13 airport fee.

We normally do taxis but the costs get higher and higher, last time we paid almost $60 1 way. We went to DR this year and just left the car at the park and ride which was about $70 for 9 days. Never knew about that news article though because that would be prime pickings for a thief. If you use a separate garage opener then it would be wise to remove that and any insurance cards.
If you have young kids and are flying out early then i would highly suggest staying at the airport hotel the night before. Yeah you're going to be paying for that extra night but the beauty of this is you can have a friend drop you off the night before so you save on taxi costs and you're not waking your kids up extra early to get to the airport. Its 10x less stressful having the time to make sure everything is done at home and going to the airport at your leisure.

Car2Go seems like a viable option except:
1. I live JUST outside of the Car2Go zone so we would have to go pick one up, bring it home, then take off to the airport with it.
2. Car2Go customer service replied to me indicating that only 1% of Calgary's fleet is MB B200. Obviously no guarantee there will be one parked and unbooked by where I live. There is only 2 of us but smart car is out of the question due to luggages.
I guess cab it is that morning if I can't find a B200 within driving distance.
