Nah, I think 500 is overblown bigtime. I would hazard 20-25 this morning so far just from word of mouth. Mostly in one area so far.

News is reporting 400 today.

That was pretty early on in the day when I originally posted, seemed to have cooled off.

No official number was released, rumours just spread about a supposed '500' number on-line and even the news outlets went with it.

Crappy times all round though for a lot of folks. Latest rumor is round two today.

They cut their costs and don't pay reporters anymore to seek out the story. They just copy/paste like everyone else. There's very little story mining anymore.

If I run into a site that needs me to click 10 times to read through something I just move on. Such an annoying practice.

I guess it's just a result of everyone expecting on-line content to be completely free, and these sites have to mine clicks at .000004 cents per click to make any money.
