    Default Groomsmen gift ideas

Getting married this summer and I'm starting to wonder about what I should get my groomsmen for their gifts. It's kind of tough because their personalities, style and taste are so different. Some of them are huge sport fans but don't like the same teams or they are into different sports. One friend and myself are the only ones into cars. I would like to get something universal that they will all like and appreciate. I don't want to do the cliche thing with the flasks, or a cheap kit with a lighter, pocket knife, ect.

I've been in 2 weddings before, one which I didn't receive anything and one where I got a personalized mug and a bottle of whisky. Can't say I use the mug too much but I did appreciate that it was engraved and had my football team logo on it.

Just wondering what you've received if you've been in a wedding party and what you would actually like to get and will use. I'm thinking of getting them watches. What would you say is an appropriate budget? I don't want to cheap out but also don't want to spend a ton of money, especially if I'm not sure they will love their gift. Suggestions?

This summer i gave engraved 2L oak whiskey barrels with the year and location, their names, their role to each guy in the wedding party. Pricing wasn't to bad either. All of the guys thought they were a great hit! I also gave each of the guys who attended the bachelor party a copy of the Bro Code which was also hilarious. Particularly hilarious cause one of my buddies was secretly sleeping with another one of the guys sisters at the time

The barrels themselves are properly charred and sealed so we are thinking of buying some whiskey bulk and all aging it in our barrels to be opened on a 10 yr anniversary.

There are a few big threads on this if you use the search btw.

Groomsmen gifts are for sure optional. Probably 80% of them are thoughtful, heartfelt, and forgotten within six months.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Always a good option. And so long as it isnt too loud it will get use.

Same with watches but thats more of a gift

We got an engraved kershaw pocket knife and 2lbs of tannerite when I was a groomsmen. It was awesome, cheap and fun. It helps that for his bachelor party we blew shit up with tannerite and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

I did watches for my groomsmen and they were all thoughtful and out of the 3 guys, my best man has died and we never did find the watch, the other turned into a crack head and doesn't know where the watch went and the other one actually still has it, albeit it probably isn't in style anymore so he probably doesn't wear it much anymore.

I thought it was a good idea at the time but it really depends on the person you're giving it to. I think the best thing to do, is to give them individual gifts to suit them and that will mean something and will actually get used, otherwise, I wouldn't give them anything but take them out for dinner or something.

I think I posted this is one of the other threads but I'll put it here anyways. I gave my groomsmen engraved shot glasses that came in a nice wooden box. The guys seemed to like them, and whenever I'm at their places drinking they'll bring them out for a shot or three.

The best gift I've received was a monogrammed money clip that also holds cards. Still using it after 8 years and love it.

I went simple for my groomsman with things they will use again.

Tasteful Tie bar and watch movement cufflinks with a bottle of small batch bourbon.

All of them routinely use the cufflinks and tie bars although the bourbon is long gone.

I got my boys all cufflinks. All different for their personalities. LV and tatossian. They still wear them which is nice to know.

Get something consumable (scotch, event tickets etc.).

No one wants an engraved flask, tie clip, cuff links or other random trinket.

my groomsmen liked these (or they lie to my face consistently about it) got them when they were offered on kickstarter. went back and bought a few more. I wear them everyday and I see them on my groomsmen quite a bit. Belt and buckles can be interchanged quite easily for different mix and matching, easily cut to exact length you need. good quality materials and construction. Had one fail from a defect and they promptly replaced it for me.

bonus from the mix and matching, they can trade buckles or belts if they prefer someone else's

We did aviators for our groomsmen. It worked well, since the wedding held in Mexico.
