Banff Family Trip

Taking my two girls out to Banff this weekend (3 and 8) for the oldests birthday. We go quite often so know the usuals. Just wondering if anyone has any different ideas of things to do in the area? We usually hit the hot springs, walk around town, etc. Something a little different would be great.

What do you guys like to do during family trips to Banff? What's your fav spots for dinner and breakfast? Any input would be great.

You have to be taller than 42" to tube at norquay. Can't imagine too many 3 year olds that are that height or taller.

Haha, nah she's got that tall. If she was thought we'd be at basketball camp this weekend, and every other weekend.

Sunday brunch @ Fairmont? Pretty common thing to do, but wasn't sure if it was the typical thing you guys do based on OP.

Toboggan and/or skate behind the Banff Springs.
Have lunch at The Eddie Burger bar, they have a decent kids menu.

We used to do banff all the time too but a couple years back banff was sold out so we tried canmore and now thats the go to for a mini get away. Canmore is pretty much the same shit but different lay out so it seems new lol only thing they dont have is the hot springs but thats like a 15 min drive.

We stay here because they have a large pool and its kids friendly

Take a look at the Banff Springs, they always have things going on. I used to work there for 10 years.
They have the rink down by the Waldhaus and usually have hot chocolate. Swing by concierge to see if they have any ghost tours running those are always fun and Dave the historian knows his stuff.
Better yet if you want to see a few rooms go to the front desk and pretend your interested in staying there and ask to see a few rooms/suites. When I worked the desk we used to always take guests up and show rooms!!!
The fondue is really good at the Whaldhaus or go to the Grizzly House DT Banff for fondue and hot rocks!!! If your adventurous try the exotic hot rock!! Alligator, rattlesnake, frogs legs....etc.
Go visit the cave and basin and tour the old hot springs or go for a sleigh ride with Brewster Stables.

jOhnston canyon is a nice casual hike, even in the winter. Make sure you have decent shoes tho. Better yet, buy some clip-on ice spikes. Kids would have fun
