The way the quick pick works is that the numbers are generated by the website and then those numbers are purchased at a retailer. You 100% know your numbers before you buy them regardless of if they are quick pick or not.

Per the stat on the quick pick vs selected, i feel that is because more players choose QP vs there own numbers when playing so naturally there are more QP winners than selected. I dont think that the system is bias to QP as that wouldn't be fair play.

At the minimum, they are charging $5 for a $2 ticket.

But like Codetrap say, it's all about trust. They may close up shop can take the billion and run.

That would be a legal and regulatory nightmare.

    World lotto = no.

Imagine if the grandson of Kim Jong Un won the $1.3 Billion powerball. Would the US payout? I doubt it.

One can barely keep the US from trying to impose a racial tax on Chinese.

If a Canadian wants to win the Powerball, you'd better do it under Obama - because if Trump gets in he will probably not pay it out.

So how are you guys buying these tickets? We want to buy some just for the excitement of having a shot at a $1Billion, but after reading about buying them online, it sounds like a bad idea...

The only site that I've found that doesnt seem sketchy is the lotter... which still won't allow me to access it.

I was able to login and purchase around 10:30 am, I think it is hit or miss depending on traffic.

Also had a friend purchase. I almost feel bad for him having to stand in line

VPN only works with existing account. Otherwise you can register a Canadian billing address.

I advise against using any online service to buy Powerball tickets. The odds of winning are tough enough. Then there are the odds of getting the money. It is easy to interpret several US laws that make the service illegal.

A friend was able to log in this morning at 6:45 am at thelotter to buy tickets.

I have a group of college friends in Texas and Washington. I went in on both pools. Normally I couldn't be bothered, but the thought of my buddies winning and me being the only one in the group as the broke ass..... That didn't sit very well with me haha.

The more I think about it... I would be scared for my life if I won that kind of money.

Good thing I can buy my tickets in North Dakota and accept the prize anonymously should I win.

Ignoring taxes, the lump sum vs annuity payout and such... if a Canadian won the powerball they would become the 39th richest Canadian. Thats insane.

1.5 billion = 2.14 billion CAD according to google and below shows 39th place currently is worth 2.128 billion.
