I feel your pain. Our company pays the fees at least, but its still just some initials that nobody here seems to care about..

I think it's worth keeping it. Work should be paying for it though.

Unless you have a professional designation through them, I see no point.

Or if you think you are about to get laid off, make sure to file an expense claim for a new membership so you can put that on your resume

At TELUS, the only way you could progress to the top of the network engineering pay scale ladder was to have your ASET certification, otherwise you could only progress to the second from the top level. Interestingly enough, being at the top of the pay scale with your ASET certification also meant you could be disciplined more easily for errors in your work as opposed to those just one level below with no ASET certification. Most people didn't bother with the certification as the number of hoops to jump through just really wasn't worth it.
    Will fuck off, again.

Anyone have their employer deny them C.E.T. Or tell them they aren't ready yet?

    Keep it!
I had my CET, moved to Australia and I didn't want to pay my dues. So I stopped. When I came back, it was a PITA to get my CET back!

But was there any reason to even get I back? No company I have worked for even asked if I was with them or even cared.

Yes. The company I currently work for wanted a CET.
When a company can use a CET on a proposal/bid, they can use a higher charge out rate. I can also negotiate my wage to be higher than a non-CET (or so I would think haha)
