Default I need an on-site IT guy.

I need someone to once and for all set up my home computer network and/or figure out what is making it the biggest piece of shit I've ever purchased.
I specifically had ME custom build me this thing along with a NAS drive and what was supposed to be the biggest and baddest router so all my devices would flow smoothly and I'd have regular backups.

We'll this piece of shit does none of that. Never has. Horrible wifi. No USB 3.0. I can't fucking transfer more than about 10 files through the USB 3.0 without it stopping, saying "can't find device" or "these could go much faster with a USB 3.0 cable/port". (Yes i have those as well as the proper cable) To transfer anything between the NAS drive and the desktop takes about the same time as a 14,400 modem.
I can't seem to access anything on the desktop from my phone or tablet....

I'm about ready to smash this thing into oblivion.

I don't want someone to do it for a case of beer, or the special "beyond" rate, I don't want "my buddy who's really good with computers"....
I want a company to send their guy, who will properly put my home network together and bill me for their time. So I can come home and turn it on and everything work smoothly.

Fucking hate this piece of shit.

Man, I read that and almost immediately thought "Hulk mad" but hey, I can totally understand your frustration.
    Will fuck off, again.

Oh God yeah. Literally. I've almost done exactly that. Fuckin cordless keyboard is 18" from the little receiver...can't type at all.
Try transferring data to my phone....nope can't do it.
Try to browse with a mobile via wifi...quicker to turn off and go through cel coverage. PS4 in the basement does nothing but buffer and disconnect all the time. Netflix....pauses all the time.
And I think this old brain is filled right up with data and unable to cram anymore into it...I just don't have the patience to figure out how to use the QNAP desktop that comes with the NAS drive. So it just sits there...making funny grinding noises most of the time so I just shut it off. When I want something from it, I can go to the garage and dig out 10 year old boxes of paper folders before I get IT up and running and reading files.

Router model? Latest firmware? Internet provider?

Any wired clients or all wifi?

I would get wired client to run some speedtests. If wired clients are having issues. Then we can narrow the problem down to router and ISP.

Once you know your wired client is stable, then worry about wifi.

And if got kids, make sure they are not doing anything heavy load network wise.

You missed the point. He's not looking for troubleshooting help. He's looking for someone to fix it.

Sure, Geek Squad will come over and format your PC for you by accident. I've seen the aftermath of this sort of behaviour enough times to know where not to tell people to go.

Try Tech Squad instead - they will stand behind their work.

The absolute last people you want anywhere near your home or technology is the Geek Squad.

I know but I don't think anyone capable will approach a problem like this unless there is a lot of hours/$ on the table.

It's not a 2hr billable and fixed issue.

Then we will end up with a thread on how he got ripped off.

If all falls through I do IT contracting (incorporated) and can come out and help you out. I believe I have been to your home before for another issue...or a related issue...some issue I don't recall anymore like 3-4 years back. As long as you are ready to spend on equipment and don't expect everything you already have to magically start working if something in your existing setup is a problem.

It was a bunch of little annoyances. Dave has all the proper hardware for a SOHO, but the setup and config is what drives many clients up the wall.

    Update:

Your description was definitely not the case here. Revelations came over and got everything running smoothly for me within a few hours. As he said, lots of little things, settings, etc. Set up my back up schedule properly.

Thanks so much. A pleasure to deal with and am very happy with service supplied!

fyi router usb's never run close to usb3 speeds, or sometimes even usb2 speed, they dont have the cpu power

an external usb3 hd, like a passport will get 60MB/s when you plug direct into pc, but plugging through a router will get 5-20MB/s depending on your model, very very very very few routers will have power to let it run 60MB/s

should have bought a synology nas, most are dual gigabit now, with the right router they go 200MB/s easy all day long with hardware encryption

Revelations is a super helpful guy, and I would have no hesitation recommending him.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?
