Window tint poll

Seeing as there's a bit of a debate starting to happen in another thread (once again), I thought it might be time for a poll regarding window tinting. Did a search a year back and didn't find any similar polls so here we go.

Edit: This poll is meant to reflect aftermarket window tints and not factory tints.

I just have the factory window tint on all the back windows, which is actually pretty dark. Don't think I would ever tint anything on the front.

I've never had it done, I just leave them the way I got them. Some of my cars are tinted, some of my cars aren't.

My Aristo is a fishbowl, M5 is tinted a bit, 540i has a bit darker tint because it was previously kid-owned.

Option E: had it when I first got my license many years ago (30+ years ago). Don't now, and won't ever again.

Always like 35% all around. Been almost 15 years doing it, never had issues. Even at traffic stops.

Just factory rear tint. I hate not being able to see where a driver is looking as a pedestrian, so I wouldn't do that to others. If it's sunny out I throw on the sunglasses.

Have had two trucks, one that came with factory tint on rear windows, and one that came completely un-tinted. I can say for sure, if I was planning on keeping it very long, the untinted one would get tinted for sure, and if I had it into a shop, I'd probably get them to do the front door windows as well.

Wife min-van has front window tint, Like it.

But if I bought vehicle and it had tint from factory on rear windows, the chances of me bothering to get the fronts done is pretty low.

Current car has 50% fronts and 35% rears, don't even get second looks from anyone. Last car was 5% all around, and it was terrible. Couldn't see worth anything behind me at night and was always getting stared at by cops.

Don't know why anyone would further restrict their visibility for any reason.

Combine that with an expensive ticket if you are caught and it's a no brainer.

I see Raceman and I would be the only two so far.

I put it on all my cars when I was in high school, and my first "nice" car after I got married. Pontiac Bonneville. White car, black windows...cooooool.

Got a number of tickets through the years. When I finally took it off, I liked it without. Will never go back. Strictly a cosmetic design that I now find "meh".

I have 35% all around now and I never had tint on my previous cars before. It helps quite a bit in the summer and it looks good. So far no tickets so I'm gonna continue to live my life dangerously.

As a pedestrian I value eye contact with drivers.

As an adult I value not getting tickets for an easily avoided infraction.

I have 20% on the back and 35% on the front. The fronts are a bit dark for me to be honest. My old car had the same I think. Besides that, all my cars have never had the fronts tinted until the last one and current one. But I am seriously considering getting the fronts tinted on my SUV. I actually really like that slight tinted look on the fronts.

I dont think anything >30% "tint" is really such as its not noticeable from a casual glance.

By TINT Im assuming you mean 5-15%.

I think the only time full-on tint would be appropriate is if you live in like Arizona or in a desert area where you have tons of sun and tint would help keep your vehicle cooler a few degrees. But that's about it. Alberta does not fall in that category IMO

I drive quite a bit for work and in my truck the sun does bug the shit out of me and sunglasses don't do the job so I plan on tinting my side windows.

But, other than the 335, which was tinted when I bought it, I haven't tinted any of my cars in quite a while, but depending on the situation, I would do it again.
